What are the differences between SV198 and SV106 guide scopes?

First, let’s talk about SV198 Mini 50mm Guiding Scope.

1.50mm aperture; large diameter objective lens collects more light; the target in the field of view is clearer; convenient to find a target in the sky.

2.Connect telescope camera; as a guide scope can be used with other accessories to easily achieve automatic star guidance.

3.Connect Eyepiece; as a right-angle correct-image optical finder scope (Eyepieces and Prism Diagonal sold separately).

4.Fully multi-coated glass; multi layer broadband anti reflection coating double glue lens; well made edge coating; higher contrast and clearer field of view.

5.Fine focusing; double spiral fine focusing and pull out coarse focusing structure; simple structure and convenient operation.

Then,let’s talk about SV106 50mm Guide Scope.

1.Svbony SV106 Guide Scope is designed for use with the guider CCD astronomy camera or eyepiece. Helical focuser collar will not rotate attached autoguider devices during focus adjustments.

2.Svbony SV106 50mm finder achromatic refractor with helical focuser.

3.SV106 has FMC (fully- multi-coated) green coating, which can enhance the light transmittance and accurately track the celestial body being photographed.

What are the similarities between the two?

1,They all have dual speed focusing devices.

(1)First, let's learn about the first focusing device(Coarse collimation spiral), as shown in the following figure.

They all have a 40mm focusing range. The available stroke is about 38mm.(You can unscrew this part to view.

(2)The operation is very simple, as shown in the following figure. First, turn the screw in the red circle, and then slowly pull the middle focusing cylinder in the Yellow frame to adjust the focal length. After the observation target is clear, tighten the screw to fix the focusing cylinder.

(3)Then adjust another focusing device(Fine collimating screw), as shown in the figure below. Just turn the focusing device with scale slowly to get a clearer images.

The focusing range of SV198 star guide mirror is 0-14 large scales for one cycle

The focusing range of the SV106 star guide mirror is 0-9 big graduations, and the SV106 graduations are slightly more detailed.

2,Both eyepiece ports are M42 * 0.75 with 1.25 inch brass compression ring interface.

3.They can be directly connected to a 1.25 inch astronomical camera, such as SV305. If you are worried that the inverted image is inconvenient for observation, you can add a 1.25 inch diagonal.

4.The screws on their hoops are the same and can be replaced each other.

5.Their aperture size is 50mm.

6.They are all fully multilayer coated glass, with excellent edge coating; Higher contrast and clearer vision.

7.They are achromatic refractors.

What is the difference between the two?

1.The tube diameter of SV198 is 55.5mm,and that of SV106 is 54.5mm.

2.The total length of SV198 is 223mm, and SV106 is 240mm.

3.The length of dovetail plate on the hoop of SV198 is 120mm, and that of SV106 is 89mm.
