Svbony Moon Filter 1.25/2inch for Reduce Glare with Metal Frame Optical Glass for Observation of Moon and Planets

SKU: F9114-
US$ 32.98
  • 1.25"/2'' moon and skyglow filter is a multi band pass filter transmitting a high percentage of light in the visual spectrum;the filter enhances contrast when observing brighter objects including the moon and planets
  • Telescope eyepiece cutting light pollution;the filter has a mild effect of darkening the background of the night sky so that the fainter objects are more clearly seen contrasted against the blackness of space
  • The filter effectively filters out selective wavelengths of low pressure sodium and other man made sources typically used in street lighting;although it is not a nebula filter; it enhances the views of deep sky objects by increasing the contrast of these objects against the background sky
  • Premium quality metal rim and thread with blue glass lens;the filter will fit all standard sized 1.25"/2'' eyepieces and accessories;it is mounted in a nicely anodized housing and is threaded on both sides for stacking with other filters if necessary
  • Standard filter thread for any 1.25"/2'' telescope eyepiece and other accessory;comes with a plastic box to keep it safe and clean when not in use

The best I have ever viewed the moon and Jupiter.

After my last star party at our club house a week ago, I used this filter on the 13 inch Dob we have to look at Jupiter. Wow what a view and a huge difference. This is the best personal view I ever had of Jupiter's cloud bands. Without this filter you had to strain your eyes to see any of the cloud bands even with a 13 inch telescope. Outstanding. Because I was using the 13 inch Dob Jupiter was so bright I actually suffered from white light glare. This Filter fixed all that. I can not say enough about of how good of a filter it is. Worth every penny. As an amateur astronomer for 50 years let me say up front that I was not (past tense) a fan of telescope filters. It was my old and probably out dated opinion that they block more incoming light than they show and are worth. However, I have many friends who love them and have many different eyepiece filters in their collection. So why did I buy this moon filter? Well because during a star party one of the our club members suggested it, while viewing a very bright half moon at the time. He told me that they have really improved. I can say first hand that he was right. While viewing the moon the glare was just about gone which allowed me to view much finer detail and make out very small craters that I was not able to view before the moon filter and the filter did this without being to dark. The old moon filter I had used forty years ago was useless and to dark so I never used it but this filter proved its wor

Great products at great prices. Very highly recommended.

Excellent

I used this filter on Jupiter exclusively, and it really brings out its colors and adds contrast allowing you to see more detail. For the price I'm really satisfied, it really does make a difference!

1. Moon filter can reduce glare and increase contrast of the moon, so you could see more moon details, also useful for extra bright planets as well as terrestrial viewing over sand or snow

2. When amateur astronomers observe the Moon, we use a moon filter. A Svbony Moon Filter provides similar benefits to those of sunglasses. Our eye relaxes and opens up to let us see more detail. This is especially important when observing the Moon when it is near full

3. Effectively filters out selective wavelengths of low pressure sodium and other man made sources typically used in street lighting;give improved definition of the surface of the moon4.

4. High quality metal construction;it is mounted in a nicely anodized housing and is threaded on both sides for stacking with other filters if necessary

5. This filter is not suitable for viewing the Sun
