Description
40 x 600 seconds of H-alpha/OIII data, captured with the SV535 and ZWO ASI2600MC Air on a Star Adventurer GTI. I stacked the individual frames in Siril and processed them in PixInsight and GIMP.
Background Introduction
NGC 6888 (The Crescent Nebula) Origin: An emission nebula formed by a massive, dying Wolf-Rayet star (WR 136). Mechanism: Fast stellar winds colliding with slower material ejected when the star was a red supergiant create a glowing shell of ionized gas—hydrogen emitting red and oxygen emitting blue-green. Future: Star WR 136 is near the end of its life cycle and is expected to detonate as a supernova within the next hundred thousand years.
