Background Introduction

M31 has always been one of my favorite deep-sky targets. My goal with this image was to capture the galaxy’s extended structure and prominent dust lanes while maintaining natural colors and a balanced background. The wide field of the SV555 also allowed M31 and its companion galaxies M32 and M110 to be presented together.
