Description

Messier 8 (the Lagoon Nebula) and Messier 20 (the Trifid Nebula) are two bright and famous nebulae located in the constellation Sagittarius. The Lagoon Nebula (M8) is a giant emission nebula with a star cluster at its center. The Trifid Nebula (M20) is known for having three distinct regions: an emission nebula (red), a reflection nebula (blue), and a dark nebula (black), which give it its trifid appearance.
