Q1: What are the actual differences between this wireless Pro version and the new standard version?
A: The new SC311 PRO has been completely redesigned from the ground up. It introduces key astronomical imaging enhancements, including 30-second long exposure optimized for nebulae and galaxies, and the ability to save 12-bit RAW image data in FITS format.
Q2: Is the save format issue fixed to support uncompressed formats for images (such as RAW/PNG) and videos (such as AVI/SER)? Or are they still highly compressed?
A: The latest SC311 PRO model now supports saving uncompressed image data.Specifically, photos are stored as 12-bit RAW in FITS format directly onto the SD card,while the pictures stored on the phone are in JPEG format.For videos, the current format remains highly compressed MP4.
Q3: Do they use the same SVBONY astronomy app?
A: No, they do not use the same application.
Q4: Does the upgraded APP provide any new functions and optimizations to support SC311 Pro?
A: Yes, the updated APP has introduced several key enhancements to fully support the new SC311 PRO, including:
- On-camera parameter saving: Allowing users to save custom exposure and gain settings for different shooting scenarios.
- Optimized ISP color processing: SVBONY SC311 WiFi Camera features an improved internal ISP algorithm that corrects purple tint and enhances overall color reproduction; delivering more natural and realistic celestial images
- Exposure control: precise manual adjustment of exposure time and gain.
- Scheduled shooting: Enables timed shooting sequences for automatic continuous exposure, ideal for extended observation sessions.
- FITS format support: Users can import captured FITS images into a computer for post-processing.(Note: FITS format images are currently only saved on the memory card. The pictures stored on the phone are in JPEG format.)
- Built-in antenna design: The WiFi antenna is now fully internal, offering the same performance in a more streamlined and portable design.
