SV241 Pro Astro Power Controller

If you're tired of the complexities of multiple power packs and tangled cables, the SV241 Pro power controller is the solution you've been looking for. Our philosophy was to create a compact enclosure that delivers ample current and USB data while maintaining your cables organized!

Deliver power to your mount, cameras, filter wheel, and all your essential astronomy equipment, thanks to its versatile multiport design. With this astro power controller, you can fully control your astronomy eqipments.

This power box supports ASCOM drivers and seamlessly integrates with the astrophotography software NINA. Once connected, you can remotely monitor and centrally control all output ports and sensor data from the power box directly within the NINA software interface.

Each USB port outputs 5V 2.5A with 2.75A overcurrent protection; the 5V line has reverse current and short-circuit protection, independent MLCC filtering, and 15KV electrostatic discharge protection.

T+H & Temp Interfaces

Equipped with a T+H interface that collects humidity data (5%-85% RH), calculates the dew point, and controls heating; the Temp interface monitors the temperature of heating tapes in real time (-10°C to 50°C) for precise temperature control and dew prevention

Utilizing PWM technology, it achieves precise, dynamic, and automated heating control.
1.Integrating environmental data (temperature, humidity, and dew point) collected by temperature and humidity sensors and automatically adjusting the heat intensity of your Dew strips for optimal performance.
2.The 12V, 6A power supply supports driving multiple dew heaters (simultaneously powering the dew heaters of the telescope and guide scope), meeting the de-condensation needs of a full range of astronomical equipment.

Built-in Circuit Protection

Safety is paramount with the power hub, boasting a suite of protections including reverse polarity, overcurrent, short circuits, electrostatic discharge. Your astronomy devices are shielded from potential damage. In addition, this power hub provides automatic restart after overload.

Intuitive LED

A built-in LED indicator lights up steadily when ready, providing quick confirmation of device connection status.

The power box is equipped with UNC1/4-20 and M4 screw holes to meet different installation requirements and prevent loose connections and power outages caused by moving, shaking, or dropping the power supply box during astrophotography.

Arrived in good state. I didn't had the opportunity to test yet the device under the stars because I live in Belgium and the weather is bad since october... But I've already made some test at home with success. Everything should work once under the stars. The only thing frustrating is that the Powerbox is not compatible (Yet?) with Indi. If I could suggest to developpers a release for Indi ? This powerbox could be the greatest. Thanks SVBony.

Everything arrived in good working order. Only complaint so far is the decision to have the input 12v be a 5.5x2.5 as opposed to 5.5x2.1 as most equipment is. Would have been a non issue if it included a 2.1 to 2.5 adapter along with the other cables to alow it to work with existing power supplies.

Smart Restart Function

Q1:How to solve the problem of confusing data [temperature and humidity] on the NINA display interface?
A:Please update the firmware (V1.1) and the ASCOM driver (V1.1)

Q2:How to understand the working logic of SV241 Pro intelligent defogger?
A:After the latest firmware (V1.1) and driver (V1.1) updates, the smart defogger function operates as follows:
1.PWM1 defaults to 79% power output upon power-up. When the ambient temperature is above 15°C and the heater sensor temperature rises 7.5°C above the dew point, heating automatically stops.
2.When the ambient temperature is between 1°C and 15°C, heating stops when the heater temperature rises 10°C above the dew point.
3.When the ambient temperature is below 0°C, the heater remains on and stops when the heater temperature rises above 5°C. Users can flexibly adjust the default heating power by configuring the heater PWM1 level when the heater temperature falls below the protection level.
Note:
Manual control is not available from the user side when the heater is in the protection mode.
The default PWM1 is the smart defogger output interface; PWM2 only supports manual settings.

Q3:Is it possible to put a system-wide reset switch in NINA to cycle the power to the box?
A:The NINA interface has a main on/off button that can be operated from the corresponding position.Be careful not to hot-plug devices while power is on; this may trigger the power supply's circuit protection mechanism, causing the output ports to stop supplying power.

Q4:All other output interfaces are normal, except for the power supply problems at the five DC output ports. What should I do?
A:The circuit protection may have been triggered during operation. It is recommended to turn off the power switches of each DC output port in the NINA switch interface and then turn them back on.

Q5:After connecting to the power supply, the device indicator light does not light up. What is the reason?
A:SV241 Pro has added overvoltage and undervoltage protection compared to SV241. If the output voltage is higher than 15V or lower than 9.5V, the power supply will automatically disconnect and stop working. Customers need to check their input power voltage.

Q6:How do you differentiate between the two PWM interfaces?
A:PWM1 is paired with a temperature and humidity sensor & temperature sensor to provide automatic heating belt adjustment function. PMW2 only supports manual control of the duty cycle to adjust the heating power of the heating belt. The intelligent defogger working logic is the same.

Q7:How to distinguish between the two standard sensor types?
A:There are two ways to distinguish them.

  • 1. Use the alphabetical markings on the silver sensor probe:
    T+H connector: The temperature and humidity sensor connector corresponds to the T+H connector on the power supply unit;
TEMP connector: The yellow temperature sensor connector for the lens heating element corresponds to the TEMP connector on the power supply unit.
  • 2. Sensors with shorter cables are marked "T+H"; sensors with longer cables are marked "TEMP".

Q8:What should I do if NINA cannot be used to install SV241 Pro?
A:You need to download the corresponding driver from the official website to identify it.

Q9:Do I need to purchase the SV241 Pro temperature and humidity sensor separately?
A:This accessory is not required as standard.

Q10:If I have a USB-A to RJ45 Ascom EQDIR cable, can the sv241 pro connect to and control the HEQ5 pro stand in NINA?
A:Can be used.

Q11:Is there any independent control software that can power the SLR?
A:Independent control software is provided. It can power a DSLR camera, but you need to purchase a dummy battery for the corresponding camera model and power it through the adjustable voltage interface.
