These are just what I needed … lightweight, lower cost dew control. I tried using one wrap connected directly to the power supply to avoid the two hour shut off via the controller and it seemed to run too hot unless you are in the arctic circle somewhere. I purchased two and cut the ends of of each. With a small amount of soldering it was easy to connect them in series and then directly to the power supply. They then run at a reasonable 110-ish degrees in the house and should be close to the Medium setting if you were to use the controller on each. Should work great now wired in series and not having to worry about them timing out and shutting off.
