1. The popular SV503 series refractor will provide the best optical quality, whatever you use it for Deep-Sky Object or Planets, visual or photography;
2. The compatible SV193 reducer will increase the field of view and improve the image flatness, which is essential for deep-sky photography;
3. The SV165 guide scope is very mini and easy to use, widely used in different Astro-observations;
4. The side dovetail slot provides you with an easy way to install the finder;
5. This combination will provide more choices among different ways to use your SV503 telescope.
I have the the 80mm version of this scope. I think for the price it's very good. It's not as good as a triplet but the difference is not big, mainly slight halos on bright stars. It's well built and nice to use. I have the reducer for it as well. It's my go to scope and I really like it.
This is the exact telescope I use with an ASI2600MC. With a 0.8X FF/FR and a Pegasus Focus Cube, this was the best rig I could afford.
I have the 102 and the 70 and I love them! Glad at got them before the tariff war being in the states!
I purchased the 503 102ed during the Black Friday sale with competitive price. Thanks svbony. I can proceed my hobby.
I got one sv503 telescope a few months ago. Pretty happy with it.
i have the 503, 102 for a few years now and i really like it, i use it with my asi 585 and it produces images i am happy with for the price of the setup. it seems to be a good match for a smaller censor i think most people buying a cheaper beginner telescope like this are not going to have an expensive apc sized cooled camera anyway. the chromatic aberration is a pain but it can mostly be sorted out in pixnsight.
I have the 102 mm ED verson from Svbony. I have used it for visual observations and photography, it's very very nice for the planets and the Moon (with filter) clearly better than my Bresser 102/1000 mm achromat. It also has an excellent focuser.
I've been using this scope for almost 2 years. Primarily DSO astrophotography with some visual use. I have zero complaints.
I own the Svbony 102/714 mm for 6 months now, previosely I had a Bresser 102/1000 mm F10 achromat and the Svbony 102 ED has a much better optical quality and performance. Also the 2 speed focuser is infinitely better than the ones used on simple achromats.
I bought this exact OTA a month ago and I tried planetary photography and the results surprised me a lot.
I bought the SV503 80 and I'm very happy with it's performance and build quality.
I have the svbony 503 80ED and the sv550 122mm, I started astrophotography seriously at the end of last year.I'm a real fan of the Svbony brand.
The SV503 telescopes are awesome for this price-range. And especially the 102mm is the best choice for both visually observing and astrophotography.
I own this 102ED myself, and I am planning to add a mono camera and filters ouch instead of getting a triplet/APO
I purchased the 503 80ED last year after having entered into AP and had no idea what a doublet was. I found that the quality was great considering it was my first refractor.
I bought the 102 version last month. I'm under Bortle 8 skies, so even my C6 has contrast issues . Yet, the Svbony, under full magnification 200x (using your favorite Baader Zoom and barlow set) at Jupiter and Saturn worked very well.
I owned a 102/1000 mm F10 Bresser achromat for some time, now I purchased the Svbony 102mm ED FPL51 and its significaltly better with a lot less chromatic aberrations. I like this refractor a lot, especially because it's sold for an excellent price
