Cool beans finder scopeCool beans finder scope Reveiw from a new amature astronomer Pros-cheep and reliable, looks cool. Once you zero it it stays so long as ya dont blugeon your telescope. Has a standard foot thingy to put on your telescope so thats nice. The 6x magnifacation is perfect for finding things and it has ok field of view. i also realy like the covers so that dust dont get in their. I like to use this thrigh one eye + my perifrial vision to look for stuff, its quite effective! To line it up with yer telescope just find somethin far away, point yer telescope at it so that the object is in the center of the view in yer eyepiece and use the screws on the finder scope holder thing to line the crosshair with thr object. cons- focusing it is a bit strange, ya gotta unscrew the red thingy to focus it. Also when ya move your head around the crosshair moves around but its ok once ya get used to it, ya need it t just find the star/space thingy and get its general location anyways so it ok. overall a cool beans finder scope!

Svbony SV181 1.25'' Rack Pinion Newtonian Reflector Focuser

Works well on 8" Newtonian Was refurbishing my 45 year old 8" Meade F/6 Newtonian. The curvature on the base was an EXACT match for the scope. Only had to wallow out the hole for the focusing tube, and drill new holes. Provided my own stainless steel hardware (wouldn't have used theirs if they had provided them, anyway). Used it last night for the first time- very smooth.

Svbony SV181 1.25'' Rack Pinion Newtonian Reflector Focuser

All Metal replacement focuser with some minor flaws Plus for all metal construction. Curve on plate is for a 5 inch tube. I have a 4 1/2 inch tube and needed to make a spacer to fill the gap between the tube and the focused. The focus adjuster was very loose and wobbly. Strap that holds the adjuster knob shaft is poorly designed and doesn’t do the job properly. I was able to tighten in up by bending the straps so it pushes the shaft closer to the gear. The strap is made of thin steel and this should have been done at the factory or a better tighter fitting part made. Once tightened it seemed to work acceptable but it might loosen again over time. Tension locking screw on adjuster is a nice feature that OEM adjusters don't have. Good product with some flaws which can be fixed with a little effort. The draw tube and gears are all metal which is nice.

Svbony SV181 1.25'' Rack Pinion Newtonian Reflector Focuser

Solid! Like many svbony products, this focuser is nicely packaged. It's a seemingly quite sturdy all metal piece that I plan to use for my zhumell 4.5 inch tabletop newtonian. It has a compression ring to hold the eyepiece, which is a nice feature to have in an inexpensive focuser. All said, I'm happy with this svbony product.

Svbony SV181 1.25'' Rack Pinion Newtonian Reflector Focuser

Deep penetration into the telescope Good cheep focuser for modifications. Iv'e added five photos. First there are photos with a ruler next to the focuser so you can see how much travel it has. With the focuser racked in all the way, it blocks light coming into the telescope. I don't need that much travel. I disassembled the focuser (third photo), cut 40 mm off the focuser tube and rack, and put it back together. I filled some of the rack threads with solder and drilled and countersunk a new hole for the screw. The screw threads are 2 mm x 0.4 mm. I got the tread tap off svbony. I also ground off the bottom of the focuser with an angle grinder and sand paper to make the focuser fit flat on my telescope box. I could have put some putty under the arch, but I needed the focuser to sit very low. Finally a photo of the old focuser and this new one on the telescope box. I will put the camera on the old focuser, and a cross hair recital eyepiece in the new one for guiding during photography. Also I want to mention that there are three little allen screws on one side around the silver thumbscrew. Two of them press a piece of plastic against the draw tube to tighten it up. The third keeps the plastic piece from falling out.

SV172 Dew Heater Strip 400mm for Telescopes and Cameras

Doesn't fit 4.5in or 5in scopes I have a Celestron NexStar 5 SLT telescope. The aperture is 127mm (5 inches). I purchased the 400mm Svbony lens warmer and it does not fit my scope. It's about an inch or two too short, as can be seen in the picture. I also have a Newtonian telescope that has a 4.5 inch aperture and it wouldn't fit that one either. I measured the heater strip and it's around 18.8 inches, so I know it's correct. So why does it not fit two different scopes that it should be fitting around? I'm getting a smaller telescope soon anyway and it'll fit the new one just fine, so it's not a big issue. It's just bugging me.

SV172 Dew Heater Strip 240mm for Astronomy Telescopes & Cameras

Work well for the price I was looking for lower priced dew heaters for my telescope and guidescope. I also wanted usb powered since I do not have a dedicated 12v system for managing dew heaters. For the price I went ahead and tried these and so far they have worked well on my Sharpstar 61 and Ioptron guide scope. I’m using them from a usb power bank and with the 3 adjustable power options they have worked fine for my environment. I’m in Texas so it hasn’t gotten really cold yet, but they work well in the current autumn weather. If you want a less expensive usb powered option, I would recommend these. Do make sure to measure your scope or lens and compare to the length of the heating element of the heater.

SV165 30mm F4 Mini Guide Scope for Astrophotography

Fat little scope! So I purchased this 30mm guidescope recently and while I haven't actually used it yet, I can say it is a nice looking little 'scope and has a surprisingly hefty feel. The objective lens looks nice and dark and well coated. My svbony guide camera and planetary fit nicely, and the rings hold the body snuggly. I'm actually quite happy with this little (fat) guidescope, and while I was thinking of making my own guidescope using a 30mm finder that came with my 130pds, which would be MUCH lighter than this one, I'm glad I opted to just buy the svbony one. Also I have to say that while I haven't yet used this guidescope, upon handling it I no longer think a 50mm would be better! Clear skys!✌🏻

SV165 30mm F4 Mini Guide Scope for Astrophotography

SV165 Focusing I just received and initially was confused about how to focus while using an eyepiece. The scope has several tubes. The middle tube has a very long threaded section. The red ring opens by turning, then you unscrew the middle section until the focal length required is achieved. Once focus is achieved, the red ring tightens (toward the eyepiece end) and locks the entire scope. The product description indicates extension of 45mm is available. The first picture shows length out of the box ~110mm, and second picture is ~130mm, which perfectly focuses the scope while using an eyepiece that I have.

Svbony SV165 Mini Guide Scope 40mm for Deep Sky

Great scope bad mounting The scope itself and the rings are solid equipment and have a bit of weight so you know nothing will be flexing when you are guiding your mount. The mount that it comes with is a bit of a joke for a guide scope this size and weight. The base is too tall with a tiny foot that would make for the possibility of flexure that would affect your guiding. It should come with a lower profile longer mounting option with an optional riser block instead of a long stock.
