SVBONY SV193 2" 0.8X Reducer Field Flattener for SV503 102ED Scope

SV193

Works well once you figure it out I wasted precious clear skies and good seeing experimenting with this flattener reducer and could not find good results. At the recommended 55mm backfocus, there is not enough in-focus on the sv503 102 to come to focus. That is, until I discovered that the nose piece of the flattener is removable. Removing the nose piece is the only way to get the required in-focus while keeping the requird back focus. Svbony do not mention this, so it took some experimenting. The video they posted as an answer to a customer question *will not* result in a flat field. To be clear, you need to remove the nose piece by unscrewing it, and use an extension tube to get the 55mm backfocus. Shorter distances may come to focus with the nose piece, but you won't get a flat field. One wonders why they include the nose piece at all if using it will not actually work with telescope it's designed for and only adds confusion.

SVBONY SV191 Zoom Telescope Eyepiece Super Wide Angle Black 1.25inch

SV191

Heavy, good, but not perfect! Very versatile. The SV Bony 191 is a solid choice for those of you whom have the desire to do visual astronomy, however you lack the budget to get a set of prime eyepieces. I’m using the 191 on a 10” Meade Schmidt-Newtonian LXD75 telescope. (1016mm f4) So, it’s a fast aperture light bucket. The focuser isn’t great on it, and that matters when using this eyepiece. The wider focal ranges are tack-sharp in my experience. I’ve read that this eyepiece is parfocal but in my experience, it isn’t. From 21mm to around 14-16mm it's great. Once you start zooming far in, I have to adjust focus. With my personal setup, this eyepiece is quite the addition. I highly recommend it. I use a 32mm eyepiece to find my target. After that, this SV Bony 191 goes in, and aside from an SV Bony Barlow lens (2x) or filter, it stays in the focused the entire night. The twistable eyecup feature is nice. My fiancé wears glasses so, for her having the eyecup all the way down is great. For me, I like to have it all the way up. It twists quite easily, so make sure you’re not putting much pressure on it. The eye relief is great. The FOV is interesting. On the higher range of the focal range, the field is a bit small. Once you zoom in, it greatly expands. Which, is a nice feature. To get photos with your cellphone, you’ll likely have to hand hold it. As the eyepiece is quite large. Which can be difficult, but the size of the eyepiece makes up for it, giving you a flatter plane on which to rest your phone. Overall, I highly recommend the SV Bony 191. It’s a great tool for navigating the night sky, and a must-have for the amateur astronomer. Whether you have a 10” reflector, or a 3” refractor. This versatile eyepiece is great.

SuficienteSuficiente Comparado con el Celestron zoom es prácticamente igual aunque con un poquito más de aumento, aunque lo probe en un NexStar 130 SLT, así que supongo que un mejor equipo se le sacaría más provecho

SVBONY SV191 Zoom Telescope Eyepiece Super Wide Angle Black 1.25inch

SV191

SVBONY SV191 Zoom Eyepiece for Telescope, 7.2-21.6mm Zoom Lens This Svbony SV191 zoom is well built and has a nice feel to it the views though this zoom is very sharp with good contrast to the edge of field of view with no edge distortion at all zoom setting. I found in my viewing at the 7.2 setting I was getting what seem to be around a 61 deg field of view not a full 64 deg but that's not a deal breaker for me but that's why it did not get a 5 star rating. In conclusion it's a very nice zoom the views of the Moon at 21.6mm to 7.2mm were very sharp with good contrast with lot of detail to be seen.

Oculare ben costruito, progetto valido. Pratica la filettatura per collegare la fotocamera. Altro vantaggio riscontrato e' che i bordi dell'immagine risultando leggermente piu' chiari compensando, di fatto, la vignettatura. Non male !!

SVBONY SV188P 99% Reflectivity 90-Degree Dielectric Mirror Diagonal

SV188P

Preis-Leistung sehr Gut!

SVBONY SV188P 99% Reflectivity 90-Degree Dielectric Mirror Diagonal

SV188P

No stop at the bottom of the eyepiece holder Nice diagonal for the price. Be aware that there is no stop at bottom of the eyepiece holder [photo]. This means that if you use an eyepiece or barlow with a long barrel it will hit the mirror. I put a chip in it the first night I used it lol [photo]. The chip is right on the edge so it won't affect the views, but I did damage the coating so hopefully it won't grow with future cleaning. This is not a problem with most eyepieces, but be careful if you have any long ones. I would like to add that the inside of mine was not red like some reviews stated. It is grey. [photo]. One could make it black in a variety of ways if they desire. There are screws on the sides.

SVBONY SV188P 99% Reflectivity 90-Degree Dielectric Mirror Diagonal

SV188P

Good clarity My first telescope only came with a 45 degree diagonal, this one is a nice upgrade. It seems solid and well made. The clarity and color are better than in the one that I had. Fit is nice and snug. The only complaint I have is really my own fault for not understanding the specs. This unit corrects the top/ bottom view, but not the left/right. Being a novice, this makes it a little more difficult for me to use. The price is very reasonable for what you get, but ultimately I will be looking to replace it at sometime because of the the left/right mirrored view.

SV188 Zenith Mirror Diagonal 1.25inch 90 Degree For Refractors

F9171A

A good value, but it could use some improvementsA good value, but it could use some improvements If you’ve purchased an inexpensive ($100-250) refractor it probably came with a cheap plastic mirror diagonal that is too small and uncoated, and consequently wastes a lot of the light entering it. Even worse, it may have come with a 45 degree erecting prism that wastes even more light, and is uncomfortable for viewing objects high in the sky. This mirror diagonal has a full size mirror with dielectric coatings that directs more light into the eyepiece. It’s an excellent upgrade, but it can be made better. If you look into this diagonal you can see that the side plates are made of plain, unfinished aluminum. That’s not good. The problem is that this metal surface reflects light inside the diagonal, and that reduces contrast. If you paint the inside surfaces with flat black paint, that will greatly cut down on internal reflections. To do so, remove the three screws that hold the plates on, and put the rest of the diagonal aside, so you don’t get paint on it in the following step. Next, clean the plates you removed with alcohol, let them dry, and paint the inner side of the plates with something like Krylon Ultra Flat Black Paint. Several light coats are best. Let these dry thoroughly (overnight is best), reattach them, and you’ll have a greatly improved mirror diagonal.

SVBONY SV182 6x30 Right-Angle Correct-Image Finder Scope with Bracket

SV182

Good Value, Does the Job I needed a light weight finderscope and this works well enough. It is solid enough mechanically, and the price is excellent. The optics on mine came misassembled, which I corrected (see below). After correction the optics are reasonably good except on bright objects, which result in starburst patterns. On the moon and planets little or no detail can be seen because of this, but the object can be clearly seen and used for centering with the finderscope, so it does the job. Generally speaking I need to slightly recenter the crosshairs at the beginning of each viewing session as they do not lock, which is typical of many finderscopes that I have had (but not true for all of them). That is easy to do and it holds well enough for a viewing session. The optics in the eyepiece portion came misassembled. On my copy it was assembled like this (| |) it should be |) (|. For anyone who has this problem, it is easily fixed since the eyepiece assembly unscrews from the diagonal, and the lenses and spacers come out after unscrewing the crosshair piece at the base of the eyepiece. Before the fix only the center of the field of vision could be focused, whereas once fixed most of the field of view is reasonably well focused.

SVBONY SV182 6x30 Right-Angle Correct-Image Finder Scope with Bracket

SV182

Svbony shows potential! I bought this finderscope(30mm), because I have a compact(sort of) telescope, the SW heritage 150p. I have a 9x50 already, but thought a smaller, lighter finder would be a better match for grab -n-go. Optics are awful! 20% of middle field...really?! Lighter and smaller-yes, better in any other way-NO! Wish there were better 30mm finders out there! Edit: ok, I want to be fair to Svbony and say that since making my original review, they have tried to reach out to me regarding the issue with this item. That's encouraging. The issue with my (and other people's) 30mm RACI scope seems to have been the plossl design eyepiece had lenses that weren't placed in proper order. I actually had to purchase an competitors straight through 30mm finder and cannibalize that one for it's eyepiece! I've since purchased other items from SVbony and they were great. So in short, give 'em a chance, they do seem like a legitimate source of decent, affordable astro-gear. (Changed original star rating.)

SVBONY SV182 6x30 Right-Angle Correct-Image Finder Scope with Bracket

SV182

Good optical quality, Spring instead of screw in mount is problematic.Good optical quality, Spring instead of screw in mount is problematic. I own two of these. The price, when on sale is quite reasonable for the quality. The scope is multi-coated and quite bright and has easy to see cross-hairs. Crosshairs can be rotated to match your preference. Focusing is done by rotating the objective and then locking in place with the red lock-ring (if using for astro, this only needs to be done once...) The issue with this finder is its mount and alignment system. (Mount itself is sturdy cast aluminum). The finderscope is held in the front of the mount via friction of a rubber ring. This ring seats reasonably well but is not rock solid. In the rear there are two adjustment screws and one "adjustment spring" The spring is "self-adjusting" (yes - not user adjustable). The spring just does not provide sufficient grip/push to hold the finder in alignment. The screws need constant readjustment to maintain alignment. This is such an obvious design flaw, yet I see this design being in used in many inexpensive finders. It does not hold alignment! C'mon SVBONY - the fix is so easy. Just do what I did - screw out the spring thingy and replace it with an actual screw. I had to find a bolt to fit the hole size and I tapped out new threading for that bolt. With three screws it holds alignment pretty well (although the rubber band at the front I am still dubious of. The second SVBONY guide scop0e I have is mounted in the traditional two rings and six adjusting screws manner - it works great that way, Overall - Nice finder and optics, but dubious mount.
