102mm Large Aperture
The SV48P refractor telescopes for astronomy are equipped with a 102mm large aperture. F/6.5 Short Focal Ratio
The focal ratio of the refractor telescope is f/6.5. Compared with the fast f/4 to f/5 ratio, and slow f/11 to f/15, middle f/6.5 can provide larger field of view, collect more light and brighter image. The observation target is clearer and easier to observe; very useful for taking wide-angle celestial photos and is more suitable for observing nebulae and galaxies.
Dual-speed Focusing

I bought this to do solar imaging and it's been great so far. It feels well built and meets my expectations.
The telescope is fantastic, with perhaps one of the best cost-benefits I've ever seen. The objective lens has a greenish coating, already corrected! I was surprised by the low chromatic aberration on Jupiter. Impressive image of the Moon! Materials used are top notch! Only the focuser has a roughness at normal speed, at reduced speed it slides very smoothly, it is very precise when focusing. I think this telescope will stay with me forever!
I bought this telescope for visual purposes. I also had the problem that the lens was initially unusable. But SVBony immediately sent a better one. Unfortunately the package didn't arrive because I had moved in the meantime. But a few weeks later the package arrived. Here I have to praise the great employee Sara, who did a lot to help me. I found that even better than the telescope itself, which with the new lens is now the best achromat I know. It's not an ED and certainly not an APO, not even with filters, but it is well suited for observing the moon and planets and is fun. the hardware can keep up with more expensive apos. I am very satisfied with the purchase and the great service from SVBony.
Full disclosure, I am an absolute beginner in terms of Astronomy and Telescopes and this review is on my first ever OTA purchase so take from this what you will! Overall I am extremely happy with my purchase, the telescope is really well built and the perfect price for what i was wanting to spend. My journey started with a $10 thrift store 70mm telescope, then I was lent a 114mm Bird-Jones reflector, but i was never happy with the planetary views. I purchased the sv48p because it has some features like dual speed focuser, that i was really wanting after struggling with my first scopes, plus i have a smart telescope for astrophotography so i wanted a nice multipurpose visual scope. I'd read that this scope wasn't a great option for planetary, but i was really impressed with the view it gave me over the other scopes i had used. I was able to see the bands of jupiter and rings of saturn clearly for the first time, even in not that great seeing conditions. I'm really looking forward to warmer weather to spend some quality time with my new toy. For me this is was great purchase, and the perfect introduction to the big boy world of OTA's, I find the build quality to be outstanding, for me the optics are a godsend. SvBony provides outstanding service and a hassle free buying experience that i look forward to using when i buy some future upgrades.
I purchased this on pre-sale before its Dec. 1 official reissue. The first batch had issues which have been corrected. The one I received star tests with nice symmetric inside and outside focus images. No hint of astigmatism. The course focuser was a bit tight and rough, but easily was adjusted to smooth operation with very little to no slop in the draw tube. It’s a very solid build. Using a UFF eyepiece the star fields snap nicely to focus across the field of view. I am very happy with my purchase which I intend to utilize as a lower power, wide field complement to my longer, higher power scopes. That’s the sweet spot for a scope such as this one.
I bought this OTA (SV48P 102MM) before thanks giving. It was advertised with a free color correction filter. when I received it about a week later shipped from china. I found out the lenses were very poor. I then contacted SVbony customer service and the sent me new objective lenses free to replaced the no good ones on the OTA. once replaced it was like a different telescope. very sharp optics and great looking stars. when paired with the color correction filter. It was like having a very super cheap ED OTA. the stars looked great and even sharper. when combined with my CLS filter or my moon and sky glow filter it was just like having an APO refractor. Of course its not a perfect OTA but from the price, the quality is outstanding and i will be using this telescope for a very long time, i'm very happy with my purchase.
I recently bought myself Svbony 48P refractor because I wanted to hone my astrophotography skills, the quality and build is very impressive considering its one the more economically priced refractors in the Svbony range. The focuser is very tight and precise no play whatsoever, I do recommend purchasing the chromatic aberration filter to remove any colour fringing around bright objects afterall it is an achromat. I've bought a few products from Svbony and they are of a very high quality.
