SVBONY SV550 80mm f/6 APO Triplet Refractor Telescope for Astrophoto

A Great Scope

After owning a SV503 (102mm) for several years, I decided to go for a triplet and little bigger for imaging. I have a tight budget and after some searching I opted for the SV550 (122mm). The SV503 had served me well for several years so it came as no surprise to find the SV550 also to be of very solid build and very smooth operation. The first images it produced with an ASI071MC Pro gave nice sharp stars with no evidence of distortion close to the edges. It has only been a few days since its arrival but already I am very impressed and have no regrets about the purchase. An added bonus is the fact that it arrived at my home nearly a week ahead of the predicted date. I look forwards to many years of astrophotography with it.

SVBONY SV48P 90mm f/5.5 Achromatic Refractor Telescope OTA for Imaging

A Very Nice Scope for the Price !

I have larger scopes (both reflectors and refractors), but here I was looking for something that would be smaller in size and easier to carry on my desert trips. In addition, I must admit I was rather curious to experiment and see, with my own eyes, what a less expensive scope could do in comparison to other, fancier telescopes ! The SVbony SV48p 90mm f/5.5 is described as an air spaced doublet achromat refractor telescope of 500mm focal length, with a large 2-inch rotatable Crayford double speed focuser. The term achromat refers to the fact that the optics is in part color corrected, and the 2-inch focuser is a very nice feature since it allows the use of 2” eyepieces, as well as large DSLR cameras and possibly even dedicated astro cameras of varying resolutions (as made by SVbony, RisingCam etc). The double speed (1x and 0.1x) feature on the focuser allows very precise focusing, which is done using the smaller golden knob on the side of the focuser. A set of stainless hex screws under the focuser allows in principle further fine tuning, for ex. adjustment of the focuser resistance to slippage. A large thumbscrew under the focuser allows the focus to be locked in place, thus reducing focuser tube movement as well. In addition, the whole focuser can be rotated by loosening a large thumbscrew, so that a celestial subject can be properly framed with a camera. SVBONY SV215 1.25" 3-8mm Clickstop Zoom Eyepiece for Planet View

Great eyepiece!

I recently received this beautiful little eyepiece, however I realised (silly me) that it doesn't focus to infinity on my spotting scope which is an SA401 also by Svbony...So it looks like I may need to start learning astronomy!!! It came very well packed and protected in its foam padded box. Included in the pack is both a cleaning cloth and 2 lens caps for both lenses. Pulling the eyepiece out of the box I was surprised by how high quality it feels, all metal...No plastic here. Zoom adjustment has no play and has a lovely click when adjusting that feels good and has a rubber grip so it's easy to grip. The eyecup is rubber and comfortable for the eye. An adjustable eyecup might have been better here, but that is personal preference. I decided to test its capabilities on my scope, which was limited to approximately 25 metres unfortunately with it not being an astronomical scope. Still, I noted when looking through it for the first time it is incredibly sharp across the field. Fixing it on a nearby palm tree I was able to see veins clearly within the leaves (see photo - taken on an Oppo Find X5 Lite). A nearby spiderweb was also clearly visible and individual fibres of the silk web could be made out with ease. Also looking at a nearby conifer tree, I was able to see the sharpness across the field and the very nice, natural colour reproduction this eyepiece has.

SV123 Black Metal Spotting Scope Camera Adapter Extensionable

SV123 fits well over SV406 eyepiece. SC001 best at

I am a big fan of SvBony and their well-engineered, well-made, and well-priced products. Taking advantage of Prime Day on Amazon this week, I purchased the following SvBony products with great deals: SV406 (not SV406P): 20 - 60× power zoom/ 80mm aperture HD (multi-coated) spotting scope; SC001: WiFi camera; SV123: Adapter for attaching SC001, suitable match astro cameras, DSLR (with additional affordable and high-quality SvBony adapter parts as necessary for specific types of cameras); SA404: Additional adapter with 1.25 inch eyepiece/astro camera holder (e.g. to use with SV123, SC001, and SV406 described above); and SV195 T-ring adapter for attaching my Canon T4i DSLR directly to the SA404 and SV123 and then attaching over the SV406 eyepiece to image with my T4i. The SV123/SA404/SC001 attached over the eyepiece of the SV406 all fit together very well. The SC001 works and images best on lower magnification (20×) and at close range with marginal performance. However, the image quality of the SC001 is undoubtedly going to perform far better as prime for the interchangeable eyepiece in the SV406P ED scope for which the SC001 is a perfect match; or at least two other SvBony spotting scopes (e.g. SA405) also specifically matched with such interchangeable 1.25-inch eyepiece and socket to accept the SC001 WiFi camera for imaging in lieu of using the eyepiece for direct visual use only; or with the fantastic SvBony MK105 Maksutov Cassegrain telescope.

SV406 Spotting Scope HD 20-60x80 Spotting Scope FMC Dual Focus for Bird Watching Wildlife Target Shooting

I tested and seriously challenged this SV406 in my toughest test designed to show me exactly what it can do. I knew not to expect the same very highest performance level as the SV406P with ED glass or SvBony's new APO (apochromatic) scopes. What I have pleasantly learned from this SV406 (HD, FMC) was totally unexpected. It is truly a great, very high-quality optical instrument with clarity and brightness that is premium and still exceptionally good at middle and highest magnification (60×). The zoom eyepiece is superb. It is parafocal, i.e. keeps its focus as you zoom in and out. Further, chromatic abberation even in the worst seeing conditions is very minimal and barely noticeable, at all,. The great clear and bright views leave me so satisfied that I absolutely enjoy using the scope to its fullest without even a thought about CA or anything that might otherwise tempt me to nitpick this very fine and solid scope. I tried to find anything that I disliked, and failed. This great scope won me over handily, and is certain to be my favorite for years to come. I very highly recommend it and give SvBony big Texas kudos for offering so many impressive products to choose from and feel great about buying! It is very easy for me to be a new SvBony fan!

SVBONY SC001 Wifi Camera for Spotting Scope & Astronomy Telescope

I recently purchased the SC001 and several other SvBony products from SvBony Direct on Amazon with great Prime Day deals. I tested the camera's operations and functions on an SV406 using SvBony adapters for fitting over that spotting scope's fixed eyepiece. Note: for best results, SvBony recommends using this SC001 camera on their SV406P and two other spotting scopes which allow connection of the SC001 directly to those scopes for imaging, instead of using the supplied eyepieces that come with those scopes for visual use. (See their recommendation on this SC001 product page and product pages for SV406P and SA401, etc.) My plan is to later purchase an SV406P or SvBony's new high-end apochromatic (APO) spotting scope, SA401 to use with this SC001 camera. In the meantime, I plan to purchase a SvBony MK105 Maksutov Cassegrain telescope to use primarily as a lunar telescope, and I believe that my SC001 will be excellent for that, based on seeing lunar images taken with the SC001 and MK105 by others. I have an extremely good heavy duty tripod and professional quality pan and tilt video head for that specific purpose. Regarding my first impressions and initial test run of my SC001, it is of clearly high quality in every way. It looks and feels premium. It works extremely well on my Motorola (Android) phone on which I downloaded the SvBonyCam app. The process was very easy, and the SC001 WiFi camera, SvBonyCam app, and Android phone work extremely well and smoothly together. SVBONY SV501P Telescope 70/400 Portable Refractor for Adults Astronomy

Great Product for the Price !

I bought one of these originally out of curiosity, with the idea of passing it on to somebody else once I was done with it. Well, after it arrived and I played with it a few times, I decided to order a second one for my daughter, so I could keep this one! Clearly this is a scope largely intended for beginners and kids, but nevertheless also for more experienced stargazers who wish to carry along a light scope on walks or trips. The SVbony SV501p 70mm aperture (400mm focal length) f/5.7 is a very lightweight - and thus eminently portable - refractor telescope with decent optics for the price. The glass optics are multi-coated to reduce internal reflections and color aberrations, and the scope comes with a Kellner 20mm eyepiece that provides 400mm/20mm = 20x magnification. Overall, the package includes just about everything that a basic user would require: a complete scope with finder, an erecting diagonal, a suitable eyepiece, a sturdy tripod, a paper instruction booklet and a carrying bag. The telescope comes with a nice lightweight and easy to assemble sturdy tripod, with four-section aluminum legs and quick release locks, making it highly adjustable in just about any direction (height and angle) and thus making it quite comfortable for viewing. Despite its light weight, the tripod is quite sturdy and holds the scope well in place without undue tightening of the various knobs and levers. A very nice sturdy yet lightweight backpack is included, with the telescope & tripod.

Svbony SV302 FMC 8-16x42mm Zoom Monocular

Excellent general use monocular!

I am a fan of monoculars having a selection at varying magnifications, objective sizes, weights and price points to accompany me on my travels, hikes and watching sports and nature. I was attracted to this Svbony as it has a very useable hand held zoom range of 8 to 16 power in combination with a 42mm objective and big eyepiece lens which all bode well for a bright image. It has surpassed me expectations and become my go to leisure companion to supplement my Hawke Frontier ED 8x32 binocs giving a good boost in power with light weight but good clarity either hand held or for best quality on an 8 inch extendable pole with a mini tripod foot placed on a hide shelf etc. Terrific build quality and performance for a truly bargain price!

ED Doublet Refractor Telescope for Astrophotography SV503 102 | Svbony

Great combination for astro and nature

Have had my SV503 102mm for a few weeks now and is very pleased. Changed out my 10" dob for the SV503 to get more usage and flexibilty. And what a pleasant surprice it has been. Bought it with a SA409-SA410 tripod and a SV222 prism and a few baader hyperion i already owned to get a big spotting scope and a vercitile optical astro telescope. It matches my fathers more expencive spotting scope in the nature and excel it on astro objects. I can easily see the individual rings of saturn and the bands and spot on jupiter. Havent had the chance to watch andromeda or the orion nebula yet. I will have many nice sessions with it for years to come. Very pleased with my purchase and would higly recomend the SV503

APO Refractor Telescope for Deep-Sky Photography SV550 122 | Svbony

Love this telescope

I have been doing astrophotography for a little less than two years. I started out with an 8 inch Schmidt Cassegrain style telescope (SCT) but I wanted a telescope with a wider field of view. I decided to order the SV550 80 mm refractor telescope from Svbony and loved it. So when SVBONY came out with the SV550 122 mm telescope and I saw some video reviews, I decided to order one to replace the 8 inch SCT reflector. I couldn't be happier with a telescope. It is a little on the heavy side (14 lb/6.4 kg vs 12 lb/5.4 kg for the SCT) but it's not too much for a senior citizen like me to handle. It has a nice long dew shield that extends and retracts smoothly. I use the manual focuser with a Bahtinov mask as a focus aid. It dials in smoothly and maintains focus once set. With the 1.0x field flattener, the stars are sharp and round points of light all across the field of view. In comparison with the 8" SCT with a 0.63x focal reducer, the quality of the images has improved greatly. In comparison with the SV550 80 mm telescope, it has over twice the light-gathering capability, so I am able to get more detail in my images during a single night of photography. All in all, I am extremely happy with this telescope and expect to get many years of great images with it.

SVBONY SV225 Alt-Azimuth Telescope Mount Adjustable for Visual Set

Excellent Features & Smooth Performance

Well designed and constructed, this mount feels rock solid. I especially like the smooth & silky resistance feeling on the slow motion controls and clutch. Its size and 10kg capacity give me confidence that my visual telescope set-up is stable and safe. The vixen clamp design is not my favorite choice, but it has triple lock security (works well) and can be interchanged if you like. Overall, I am very pleased with this mount. It`s a good value, like most SVBony products! I also reviewed this product in detail on my YouTube site at "Astrophotography Japan".

Color Planetary Camera SV705C | Svbony

Great uncooled astronomy camera

I have only had this out for one night doing some EAA, but it will defiantly be my replacement for my astro-modified DSLR unless I am going after a really large object. The noise is quite low and there really is no amp glow. The sensor is a little small, but that is to be expected and that is okay for me at the moment since I am mostly interested in imaging smaller objects and parts of larger ones. If not obvious by now, I am mostly going to be using this for DSO imaging and EAA, but since the pixels are pretty small this will be my planetary imaging camera as well. I have not tested that yet, but given how well it performs for deep sky and when I had it looping on Vega for focus, I think it'll be just fine for that purpose as well. If you are looking for a replacement for an old DSLR or you want to do EAA and can catch this camera on sale, don't pass it up.

Svbony SV220 2" H-Alpha OIII 7nm Telescope Filter for Nebula Photo

I own this filter and I tested it under a Bortle 5 sky with a full moon and it allowed me to image the M42 nebula perfectly, no halo or stray light from the moon or light pollution from the city. Excellent Reticule Eyepiece

This is one of the first eyepieces that I ever bought. Unlike many others, this one I continue to use routinely. It is an excellent value, giving wide field of views and sharp clear images. The adjustable reticule crosshairs are straight and as bright as you want to make them. I think this is an indispensable tool for any visual astronomer or planetary photographer. I highly recommend this high performance reticule eyepiece!

Parfait pour le Ciel Profond

Achetée pour remplacer mon EOS 600D, je suis très satisfait. La prise en main est pas évidente par rapport à un APN, mais une fois qu'on a compris, le résultat est bluffant. Je l'utilise avec sharpcap, aucun souci, les drivers svbony fonctionnent bien, du coup je n'utilise pas ASCOM. Je recommande 🙂
