This SV503 ed doublet scopes are very capable and a great start for people not wanting to spend a fortune.
This is my first SVBony scope I have purchased and all I can say is I absolutely love it! Right now I am using primarily for visual observation but moving into Astro photography. The build quality and optic quality on this scope is outstanding. I have previous Celestron 100mm scope I purchased that doesn’t even come close to the detail this 80mm ED F7 scope provides. My previous 100mm scope would not show me any planet detail of Jupiter. With this scope which is even smaller I can see cloud structure, Great Red Spot, and color detail of Jupiter at incredible detail and quality. I am using 100% SVBony accessories and the red line optics with 2X barlow and SVBony upgraded diagonal. This is a professional quality telescope with practically zero chromatic aberration using the color correction filter. This has become my new go to scope and I couldn’t be happier with the SVBony AZ tripod and mount. What a difference this made in my nightly viewing experience!

I owned a 102/1000 mm F10 Bresser achromat for some time, now I purchased the Svbony 102mm ED FPL51 and its significaltly better with a lot less chromatic aberrations. I like this refractor a lot, especially because it's sold for an excellent price
I have the the 80mm version of this scope. I think for the price it's very good. It's not as good as a triplet but the difference is not big, mainly slight halos on bright stars. It's well built and nice to use. I have the reducer for it as well. It's my go to scope and I really like it.
This is the exact telescope I use with an ASI2600MC. With a 0.8X FF/FR and a Pegasus Focus Cube, this was the best rig I could afford.
I have the 102 and the 70 and I love them! Glad at got them before the tariff war being in the states!
I purchased the 503 102ed during the Black Friday sale with competitive price. Thanks svbony. I can proceed my hobby.
I got one sv503 telescope a few months ago. Pretty happy with it.
I absolutely love it! It was my first serious astrophotography telescope and I see no need to replace it for a bigger name brand. I think you will genuinely be impressed by it. It's compact, light enough. It doesn't feel like a cheap junky telescope. Its very decent quality. I have no doubts you will get amazing results.
I own the SV503 80mm with the 0.8 reducer. The 503 is really a great scope to work with! Easy to focus, light weight, set-n-forget and for the price: I am still trying to find fault with it.
The SVBony SV503ED 80mm refractor is a great value and offers fantastic optical performance. For the price of this instrument users will find excellent optical performance. Chromatic color aberation on the brightest stars are barely noticeable and easily handled in post processing. The OTA weight is easily accommodated on light weight mounts such as the Skywatcher AZ-GTi and similar mounts. This refractor is a bargain that should not be overlooked. Clear skies...
i have the 503, 102 for a few years now and i really like it, i use it with my asi 585 and it produces images i am happy with for the price of the setup. it seems to be a good match for a smaller censor i think most people buying a cheaper beginner telescope like this are not going to have an expensive apc sized cooled camera anyway. the chromatic aberration is a pain but it can mostly be sorted out in pixnsight.
I've received the sv503 last week, it really looks like a capable budget beginners scope. SVBONY are producing some nice kit for lower budgets and beginners.
It's a solid scope. Make sure you buy it with the field flattener or your edges will be skewed. My stars aren't perfect but that's my fault, plus bad tracking. The focuser is very easy to use, and very sturdy. It comes with a dovetail and a 1/4-20 mount thread so you can use this on a startracker like SkyGuider or Star Adventurer. I do not regret this purchase, for an entry level scope, it's great. Also, to the individual claiming this scope has a purple fringe.... it does NOT. Your camera is producing amp glow, getting warm. I have not experienced this issue at all.
+ Very nicely made, appreciate the built-in rotator with the tightening screws. I don't see this on telescopes with much higher price tag, it's usually an add-on accessory. + Feels sturdy, although I did go through all the screws to make sure they are all tight, a few was a bit loose. + The Focuser is like butter, very nicely made, I like the bottom knurled-screw to loosen or tighten the focuser. + The dew shield is nice and tight, I had issues with other brands, that the dew shield slides back down too easily. This has just the right amount of tightness. +Lens is great! (See images) I don't see much chromatic aberration at all. Those who don't know what that is, that lens in the scopes bend the light to focus into your eyepiece and lesser quality lens tend to create this rainbow color halo around stars and shiny objects, because the lights in the spectrum don't exactly focus into a tight spot. This is usually corrected with another piece of lens (those scopes called apochromatic triplet telescopes) , but so is the price go up, way up. For this telescope with only a doublet lens, it's doing fantastic!
I have the 102 mm ED verson from Svbony. I have used it for visual observations and photography, it's very very nice for the planets and the Moon (with filter) clearly better than my Bresser 102/1000 mm achromat. It also has an excellent focuser.
I've been using this scope for almost 2 years. Primarily DSO astrophotography with some visual use. I have zero complaints.
It’s amazing what you can achieve with the budget-friendly setup.SVBONY have a good range of budget options, worth checking out. This helps to make astrophotography more affordable to a lot more people like me, haha..
I own the Svbony 102/714 mm for 6 months now, previosely I had a Bresser 102/1000 mm F10 achromat and the Svbony 102 ED has a much better optical quality and performance. Also the 2 speed focuser is infinitely better than the ones used on simple achromats.
I bought this exact OTA a month ago and I tried planetary photography and the results surprised me a lot.
enfocador suave, liviano, Calidad y precio!
I bought the SV503 80 and I'm very happy with it's performance and build quality.
I have the svbony 503 80ED and the sv550 122mm, I started astrophotography seriously at the end of last year.I'm a real fan of the Svbony brand.
The SV503 telescopes are awesome for this price-range. And especially the 102mm is the best choice for both visually observing and astrophotography.
I own this 102ED myself, and I am planning to add a mono camera and filters ouch instead of getting a triplet/APO
I purchased the 503 80ED last year after having entered into AP and had no idea what a doublet was. I found that the quality was great considering it was my first refractor.
Amazing and good good price
I bought the 102 version last month. I'm under Bortle 8 skies, so even my C6 has contrast issues . Yet, the Svbony, under full magnification 200x (using your favorite Baader Zoom and barlow set) at Jupiter and Saturn worked very well.
Excellent optical and mechanical quality, had a chance to use it (coupled to a Canon EOS T6i camera) on Orion M42, the Horsehead nebula and the Rosette nebula. Truly outstanding for the price.
Telescopio completo para cielo profundo, lunar, solar y planetario con barlow. Para poner cámara dedicada planetaria es necesario un extensor para enfocar
The SVBONY SV503 ED80 f/7 Telescope is a great little telescope for the value. It is light weight making it ideal for a grab and go scope for quick setup time and use, Features dual hinged mounting rings and Vixen style Dovetail for easy mounting on most any brand EQ or AzAlt mount. SMC Coated optics. 2 Speed RAck and Pinion focus, rotating focus head. You can use 2" or 1.25" eyepieces with the supplied 1.25" adapter. Nice and sturdy construction and machining. white powder coated Aluminum OTA. Sliding Dew Shield for smaller storage when nt in use. Paired with the SV106 50mm Guide Scope and the SV305 Camera makes for a nice little Astrophotography rig at a price thet won't break the bank. Great starter telescope for someone wanting and all around use telescope for both viewing and Astrophotography. I have owned my 503 ED80 for about a year and have used it many time in my observatory. Excellent views of the planets,Moon,Sun and many of the Messier Objects. I compared it to my Meade LX85 R5 f/5.8 Refractor and didn't see a lot of difference other than the larger aperture scope was brighter. The 503 ED80 has very little Chromatic Aberration common in most Doublet Refractors. It is nearly un noticeable using a Baader Fringe Killer Filter. I have several other telescopes and I highly recommend this for anyone on a budget or to add to your telescope collection. They have a full line of Telescopes and accessories at very good prices and pretty good quality items. I own sever acc
This is a great refractor for a great price! I'm an astro-photographer and I've had mine for almost two months. I still get excited about using it! The quality is comparable to the best on the market. The look is almost identical to that of the Williams Optics Zenithstar. Pictures don't do it justice. You can feel the quality in your hands. From the eggshell finish to the gold accents. Solid body, check. Extendable dew shield, check. Tight dual focuser, check. Quality FPL-51 glass, check. Portability, check. This quality at this price, well, worth every penny.
So i bought this telescope on amazon from the official svbony store, i had to ship it to Uruguay since i live in Montevideo, it came really fast from Miami to Montevideo, i have it for almost 6 months now and its being amazing for me, picture quality is great, quality is also great, i just had one issue where one screw was losen and chiped the focus rail but costumer support really helped me to fix it. I'm using it with a Sky Watcher AZ GTi whit EQ Mod and EQ Firmware, i also bought some filters like moon, UV/IR, UHC and CLS from svbony, all of them are good quality as well the dew heater. In the future im planing to get the sv193 0.8x focal reducer, and the SV241.
