SV705C Planetary Camera IMX585

Due to the Back-illuminated sensor structure and advanced pixel technology, the camera has very low readout noise and a large full well capacity (38ke-) especially in low light conditions. Which is 3 times than the IMX485 sensor.

ST4 Guiding

It is designed with ST4 guiding port, supported by PHD2 and the ASCOM platform. You can connect the camera to the mount by a guiding cable, and control the equipment through software on your computer. You also need filters and other accessories to ensure the best results.

128MB DDRII Buffer

The SV705C has a built-in 128MB DDRIII image buffer. The benefit of the image buffer is that the memory will cache the image and transfer it to the computer when the USB interface is not busy or being interrupted, so that the frame won’t be lost or corrupted. This buffer also allows a slower computer with USB 3.0 to capture every frame without loss even if the USB bus is occasionally busy with other peripherals. This buffer also makes it possible to run another camera using the same computer without USB transfer problems from the SV705C.

Supports ROI & BIN

SV705C features Region of Interest (ROI), auto resolution can be set, will highly increased the frame rate in planetary imaging, excellent performance ensure the planetary imaging quite easy.

Super Finderscope camera!

I use for Finderscope with an c-mount 50mm F1.4 lens. Amazing, very sensible, I see all the stars and planets needed.

Great for solar photography with a small refractor (and appropriate filters)

I bought this camera recently for the 2024 Solar Eclipse as I didn't have a planetary camera and wanted something quickly so I could try it out and get comfortable with it. I paired this with my 71mm triplet refractor that also has a hydrogen alpha etalon and blocking filter. I had zero problems with this configuration, and everything worked as it should from drivers to functioning with SharpCap. If you are completely new to dedicated astrophotography cameras, there will be a learning curve to using this. If you have used them before, this should be pretty familiar territory and for me at least there were no surprises or gotchas.

Great uncooled astronomy camera

I have only had this out for one night doing some EAA, but it will defiantly be my replacement for my astro-modified DSLR unless I am going after a really large object. The noise is quite low and there really is no amp glow. The sensor is a little small, but that is to be expected and that is okay for me at the moment since I am mostly interested in imaging smaller objects and parts of larger ones. If not obvious by now, I am mostly going to be using this for DSO imaging and EAA, but since the pixels are pretty small this will be my planetary imaging camera as well. I have not tested that yet, but given how well it performs for deep sky and when I had it looping on Vega for focus, I think it'll be just fine for that purpose as well. If you are looking for a replacement for an old DSLR or you want to do EAA and can catch this camera on sale, don't pass it up.

    1. The SV705C camera is best used with a refractor or reflector telescope mounted on an equatorial mount that can accurately track the motion of the sky.  It is not intended for taking images through the eyepiece of a telescope. You may also require additional accessories and filters to get the best results.

If you want to use the SV705C camera capture images through telescope eyepiece. You need buy an eyepiece projection adapter.
