Planetary photography is an example of a good use for this lens which has a focal length of 1500mm. The image circle won't cover a full-frame so it's best used with an APS-C sized sensor (or smaller) if one goes the electronic sensor route.Contrast with this type of lens is lower compared to a refractor type lens, but the images are sharp (considering a stable mount is used). It can show hotspotting in the center due to its construction and lack of lens-shield. The lens assembly comes with mounting provisions for two guide scopes, and a dovetail rail for mounting on an astronomical type mount. good scope
Quality construction, all metal parts and focus knob is super smooth. Paint finish on the tube is nice. I have it paired with a sky watcher AZ Gte mount and so far it has been impressive. My only complaint is that there appears to be dust or specks of mirror finish between the objective lenses.

I was skeptical, but not now.
I have an older Celestron that does a nice job, but is difficult to work with and impossible to travel with. The svbony mk127 fits the bill perfectly. It's easy to setup and easier to use. Spotting your target at night can be tricky, but I didn't find it any harder than my older scope. Daytime viewing is awesome. We've used binoculars to watch eagles nests in the past, and now we'll be able to see even more with this, as it's so easy to travel with. I would not hesitate to buy again.

This is a fantastic telescope for the price. It has a great build quality. You can tell whoever designed it knows their stuff because all inside surfaces are matte black to reduce glare and increase contrast, something that from $500 scopes don't always have.
I put it on an old video camera tripod and was able to take a really clear picture of the moon before it got cloudy. I've been cursed with cloudy nights for the past 2 weeks but when I've been able to use it, I've been impressed.
