I've been using the SVBONY SV555 for several weeks now, and it has proven to be a very well-balanced telescope: solid construction, reliable mechanics, and consistent optics. The triplet provides clean, well-defined stars without any distracting aberrations, and the dedicated corrector ensures a perfectly flat field across the entire sensor. Focusing is precise, and the focuser easily accommodates a cooled camera and the usual accessories. The whole setup remains lightweight and easy to integrate into a portable or fixed configuration. SVBONY's official website doesn't include a T-ring adapter for the SV555 with the Canon EOS R (RF) mount. I purchased an M48x0.75mm T-ring adapter from a third-party supplier. With these accessories, I could securely and firmly connect my EOS RP camera to the telescope. However, I couldn't get it to focus. Later, I found some M48x0.75mm spacers, which did indeed help with focusing. For reference: When focusing at infinity, if using a m48x0.75mm EOS R adaptor to connect to Canon EOS RP model camera.

I have now actually been able to test the telescope! I am very happy with it! It is, as always, got that feeling of being built well. This is the telescope I should have always got in the first place. The stars look good, I have a slightly conical shape but I would pin this down to my camera or adapter rather than the telescope, probably sensor tilt or something along those lines. The filter drawer is a must but takes up a fair amount of the backfocus and the focus distance is really short, but at the end of the day it is a cheap telescope. I only got an hour on Orion and horsehead, and then rosette another hour, it’s fast optics got me quite a lot of data in that short time with narrowband. I am excited to get 10 or so hours on the Polaris IFN! It has brought the excitement back because it’s light, quick to setup and I can start imaging as soon as possible!

It’s a good lens. You won’t be disappointed with the optical quality. But my lens was shipped with an allegedly Vixen style mounting rail 41 mm wide. This rail can’t be gripped by my Ioptron mount so, as is, the lens can’t be used on that mount. Actual Vixen style rails are 44 mm wide and work with my mount. SVBony suggested that I buy another rail from them that is 43.5 mm wide to replace the undersized rails. Not a satisfactory solution when the rail supplied with the SV555 is supposed to be Vixen compatible. Watch out for this problem.

The new SV555 from Svbony is absolutely stunning!!! The star shapes are absolutely amazing!!! The stars are perfectly round, with no visible aberrations or distortions, even at the edges.

Received my SV555 today and managed to install a Gemini EAF on it using the supplied EAF bracket. I made a 3mm spacer and added a piece of foam to the front of the scope to prevent rubbing and it added stability. There is a 1.5mm gap between the scope and EAF and no binding in movement. Currently have a SV605C attached but I have a Touptek AT585C coming as the dedicated camera for this rig. Now I am waiting for a clear night to get in some imagining. Here in North Dakota we have been inundated with Canada's wild fire smoke along with the clouds.

Just got the newer SV555 and so far I'm impressed with the build quality and the price point and size are perfect for my level of astro hobby. I will only use it with my Canon EOS RP body which works perfectly for infinity focus with a Canon EF / EOS R adapter and an SVBONY M48*0.75mm t-ring. Closest focus distance is ~ 34'. There is very slight rotary free-play between the t-ring and adapter however. Total weight of SV555+camera+adapters is ~ 3.7 kg .. balancing well and ok load for 5kg capacity AZ-GTi tracker. Horrible weather here this early summer so haven't yet had a chance to do any short (up to 30 sec) tracked shots. But short ~ 1sec shots show very sharp focus at infinity across fov at max aperture.

The result is very promising, autofocus-curve was textbook and sharpness is great.I still have to finetune the spacing and there's a little bit of sensor tilt, but those are not issues of the telescope itself so I'll be able to easily fix them.The insane sharpness allowed me to use the 2x drizzle to generate a 108 *Megapixel* final image. (3.5h exposure, but under terrible skies, we don't have true darkness at this time _and_ the full moon was out) This is going to be an insane combo for nebulae like the North-America or California or M31.

My SV555 Was the first batch and i struggled as i had repainted my spacers so i sandwd the excess off.My next picture im busy with is amazing the rim nebula a few more hours of integration and it will be done. This is my picture of ETA Carina.

The new sv555, which has a much better performance. I have the firts version, and even though it has a little problem with star shapes, I have been able to get some pretty cool images with it, and some of them have won APOD.

The quality of the SV555 is great. Although they had some issues with focussing in the first batch (whichbcan be easily solved with a replacement backplate), the build quality of this scope is awesome. No rattling on any of the moving parts, very smooth running focussing an aperture ring etc. I am currently imaging with the SV605CC camera, but will test fullframe EOS 6Da soon. I am pretty sure, the optics can correct the whole fullframe sensor 👍
