Flatfield Refractor Telescope for Astrophotography SV503 70 | Svbony

SV503

Product Review

My team recently purchased one of these as a test telescope for an Astronomy course here at Princeton University. We have not had the chance to use it yet, however I must say I am very impressed with the quality of materials, machining and tolerances.

SVBONY SV605CC Cooled Camera & SV149 Adapter for Deep Sky Astrophoto

SV605CC

Product Review

I've used the svbony sv605cc for a couple of weeks now. I'm quite impressed with it. The only complaint I really have is the tiny spec of ampglow in the top left. I thought it was zero ampglow but they do advertise as "suppressed ampglow". It does calibrate out really easy, but its so small it is usually cropped out anyway. There is no built-in heater. It hasnt been an issue yet. But a nice feature to have. I don't see a need for the usb hub on the colour camera. I absolutely love the square sensor. It is almost always framed right. I didn't think it would matter much but it sure makes it easy. The camera is absolutely solid. Really well built. Connects to NINA without issue. It does NOT work with the stellavita - yet. It cools quite well and uses less power than my imx571 camera. It comes with everything you need and the small padded case is nice. This is not a camera that sacrifices quality for price. Absolutely worth buying this camera.

ED Doublet Refractor Telescope for Astrophotography SV503 102 | Svbony

SV503

This is a very nice scope, especially for its price point. I've taken some lovely images using this scope. From the start, I've used the focal reducer and found I could never get round stars to the corners; it doesn't give a very flat image. This scope is undoubtedly a good buy and perfect for getting into "serious" astrophotography.

Color Planetary Camera SV705C | Svbony

SV705C

Product Review

It is a planetary camera with a large sensor, so it does deep sky fairly well. Especially at the price - it's half the size of the 605's sensor. Because it isn't cooled, it does need a lot more time under the sky, but it captures the brighter targets with ease. As a planetary camera, I've gotten decent results. Noise performance is really good and I'm able to push gain fairly hard for planetary captures. For the really large apertures, the FPS might be on the slower side. I'm looking forward to capturing Jupiter soon. So as a planetary and deep-sky combo, it's a lovely camera. It takes some fiddling to find the best settings, but it's been a joy to use. I use mine in Ekos running on a Raspberry Pi 5. I've used it with an 8" Newtonian, the SV503 80mm and 102mm. Windows with SharpCap for planetary.

SVBONY SV231 1.25" Fringe Killer Color Correction Filter for Lunar

SV231

Product Review

This filter blew me away! I used it on Jupiter and the Moon and compared it with my Baader Contrast Booster, and the difference is night and day. It lets through so much more light that you barely notice it’s there. The warm tone gives Jupiter & the moon incredible contrast, making the equatorial belts on Jupiter pop like never before. It cut about 99% of the chromatic aberration in my 102mm f/6 achromat, giving a crisp, natural view. Honestly, it’s made my Baader Contrast Booster feel outdated. The Baader looked darker and even added some red fringing around Jupiter’s disc. This new filter is brighter, cleaner, and simply superior in every way.

Svbony SV550 80mm Triplet APO F6 Refractor Telescope OTA for Deep Sky

SV550

Product Review

I’ve been using the SVBONY SV550 80mm APO Triplet for a while now, and I’m honestly blown away by the optical quality and build for what it costs. The images come out sharp and beautifully color-corrected, with zero noticeable chromatic aberration. The dual-speed focuser is smooth and precise, and the overall finish feels premium. It’s light, easy to handle, and works perfectly for both visual observing and deep-sky astrophotography. Highly recommended!

Off-Axis Guider OAG SV238 | Svbony

SV238

Product Review

Purchased SV238 OAG to replace bulky SV106. The SV238 is very good quality build. It comes with additional hardware to mount M48 or M54 adapters. Threaded on precisely to SVBony Field Flattener. The SV905C dropped in and the focus adjustment is smooth and secure. Waiting for SV226P so I can attach SV605C to complete imaging train. I expect some improvement in guiding performance and easier mobile setup in dark skies.

Astro Power Controller SV241 Pro | Svbony

SV241 Pro

Product Review

Arrived in good state. I didn't had the opportunity to test yet the device under the stars because I live in Belgium and the weather is bad since october... But I've already made some test at home with success. Everything should work once under the stars. The only thing frustrating is that the Powerbox is not compatible (Yet?) with Indi. If I could suggest to developpers a release for Indi ? This powerbox could be the greatest. Thanks SVBony.

SVBONY SV215 1.25" 3-8mm Clickstop Zoom Eyepiece for Planet View

SV215

Product Review

Bravo SVBONY! The SV215 zoom eyepiece is simply amazing! It is truly a unique product – there is nothing like it on the market. Everything is impressive – the build quality, the presentation of the eyepiece and packaging, the consistency of the field of view (which is not typical for other zooms), the parfocality across all magnification levels (and even if focusing is sometimes needed, it’s very minimal), and ease of use – I felt a lot of positive emotions after purchasing and using it. I compared it with the fixed planetary eyepieces I have from well-known brands – all comparisons favored the SV215. This eyepiece has become my favorite planetary eyepiece. I recommend it to all amateur astronomers. The only thing I didn’t like – I bought it at full price, not at the Black Friday discount on the SVBONY website for almost half the price. In that case, I could have also bought a 2-inch SVBONY UHC filter with the money I saved, but now that dream will have to wait. Once again – Bravo SVBONY for the SV215 zoom eyepiece!

SV240 1.25'' Multi-Narrowband Filter for Urban Astrophotography

SV240

Product Review

I've used this filter a few times on emission nebula and am very pleased with it. There is very little halo around bright stars, I believe better performance than Optolong filter in its class. I have recommended this filter to a few Astro buddies, and they are very interested, especially the price point.

Svbony SV220 2" H-Alpha OIII 7nm Telescope Filter for Nebula Photo

SV220

Product Review

The SV220 7nm dual-band filter was the first filter I purchased from SVBony. I was amazed with the results, very little halo around bright stars to be the biggest advantage. As far as stopping stray light in bortle 7-8 skies, my scope occasionally has given me the message "not enough stars in the field". Even thought this website states not for OSC faster than f4 this filter works amazingly well on my f2.2 Origin. I've recommended it to a few friends and they too have purchased this mighty filter. I would put the performance of this filter head to head against Optolong L-eXtreme dual-band filter,
