Off-Axis Guider OAG SV238 | Svbony

SV238

Product Review

The SVBONY SV238 OAG is immediately perceived as a high-quality product. Its entire body is made of CNC-machined aluminum, anodized for added protection and rigidity. It features a double helical focuser for the guide camera. Focus adjustment on OAGs is notoriously delicate. Once the focus is perfect, you can lock it securely. It includes thread adapters in M42, M48, and M54 sizes, allowing it to integrate with most imaging setups (cooled cameras, filter wheels, filter holders, or reducers and flatteners). This versatility is vital when using reducers or flatteners that require precise backfocus distances. The OAG is made of CNC-machined aluminum. The SV238 uses a large 8×14 mm prism, one of the largest sizes available in its price range. This increases the field of view and makes it easier to find guiding stars. A larger prism increases the guide camera's field of view. The height of this prism is adjustable. Focusing on OAGs is notoriously tricky. The SV238's dual helical focuser makes it easy to quickly and accurately focus the guide camera. Once the focus is perfect, you can lock it securely in place. The SV238 accepts M42, M48, and M54 threads on both The SV238 features two sides for versatile connection to astrophotography systems. It can be connected directly to focal reducers, flatteners, filter holders, or filter wheels, and to the main camera on the other side. The SV238 incorporates features found in higher-priced OAGs, such as a large prism and a double focuser.

SVBONY SV225 Alt-Azimuth Telescope Mount Adjustable for Visual Set

SV225

Product Review

The sv225 is a huge improvement over the alt/az mount that came with 90mm telescope. The shipping was faster than I expected and arrived in perfect condition. It was very easy to set up and adjust to fit my scope! There is still a slight vibration when adjusting focus but it settles down in a second or two. Over all the sv225 is an excellent mount that will improve your viewing experience! Thanks Svbony!

SV154 Telescope Eyepiece 1.25inch 70 Degree SWA 15mm Red

SV154

Product Review

I used this 15mm SWA eyepiece for 2 months now and it has become my go-to eyepiece. The clarity and wide view field are excellent. It makes viewing DSO and maintaining AltAz centering very easy. The eye relief is also a blessing since my old eyes aren't what they use to be. Truly a joy to have a mid-range magnification EP that works beyond my expectations. Great design Svbony... many thanks.

Svbony SV220 1.25" H-Alpha OIII 7nm Dual-Band Nebula Filter Deep Sky

SV220

Product Review

’m beyond pleased with the SVBONY SV220 filter so far. It works exactly as intended and has already exceeded my expectations. I’m still in the testing phase, mainly because there haven’t been many clear nights lately, but based on the sessions I’ve had, it works like a charm. The filter does a great job of enhancing contrast and delivering clean, usable results, even under less-than-ideal conditions. Build quality feels solid, and performance has been consistent every time I’ve used it. I’m really looking forward to testing it more once the weather cooperates, but so far, I have absolutely no complaints. Highly recommended.

SV605MC Mono Cooled Camera IMX533 for Deep Space Astrophotography

SV605MC

Product Review

Thanks to Svbony’s kindness, I exchanged the SV605CC camera for the mono version. I haven’t had a chance to test it yet because the weather has been bad. The cooling works well and the camera feels very solid. I also bought a set of 5 nm SHO filters, which have good reviews and a great price. My only remark concerns the USB camera/PC cable, which is very stiff. I think it would work better if it had an angled USB connector. Other than that, everything is fine.

SVBONY SV225 Alt-Azimuth Telescope Mount Adjustable for Visual Set

SV225

Product Review

SV225 telescope mount is fantastic and strong. I own TWO of these mounts for 80mm and 90mm refractors and highly recommend them smooth object viewing. One issue is male connection into the adjustable angle female vertical arm is not tight enough. That is totally OK with me, as an easy solution is placing 3 inches of electrical tape (1mm thick) onto the male portion, which removes ALL free play in the mount base/arm connection. IMO that knowledge should be recommended in SV225 Instruction Manual.

AZ Telescope Mount & Tripod SV225 | Svbony

SV225T

Product Review

SV225 telescope mount is fantastic and strong. I own TWO of these mounts for 80mm and 90mm refractors and highly recommend them smooth object viewing. One issue is male connection into the adjustable angle female vertical arm is not tight enough. That is totally OK with me, as an easy solution is placing 3 inches of electrical tape (1mm thick) onto the male portion, which removes ALL free play in the mount base/arm connection. IMO that knowledge should be recommended in SV225 Instruction Manual. SV225T tripod is an excellent design and very sturdy. It works perfect with a SV225 mount. The SV225T tripod might look a bit short… But the SV225 telescope mount adds another 12.5” to vixen shoe height for the telescope. You can also improve the tripod by adding a simple round 4mm thick rubber piece as a gasket between the SV225T tripod and SV225 mount. Always best to not have metal sitting on metal. I highly recommend this SV225T tripod for very stable viewing of DSOs.

APO Astro Camera Lense | SVBONY SV535

SV535

Product Review

SV535 vs Canon 100mm F2.8 L lens - Chromatic Aberration test. Can you tell which is which? Both captured at the exact same settings 1/500th, F2.8, ISO 160 Canon R6 MK II. Circa 200% crop near centre of frame. Extremely close in performance with a huge price difference. Granted, they're designed for completely different use cases, but the Canon 100mm is what I've been using for my wide field portable setup for years. The corners though there's a difference between the two. Once I finally get it under the night sky I can better see edge to edge performance on full frame. So far though, this punches way above its price range.

SVBONY SV407 2.1x42mm Super Wide Angle Binoculars for Stargazing

SV407

Product Review

I bought these for my wife who prefers wide views of the sky rather than through a small eyepiece and she loves them. I really like them too. They improve the view by at least one apparent magnitude allowing many more stars to be viewed making them great for star hopping. The entire Orion constellation was visible in a single view. Bonus are the threaded primary lenses giving me the option for adding 2” filters. Solidly built. I had a lens defect with my original pair but Svbony responded right away and provided a replacement and shipping label for the return.

APS-C Color Cooled Astronomy Camera | SC571CC

SC571CC

Product Review

From my point of view, the SC571CC is positioned (at least a priori) at the same level as other cameras using the IMX571 sensor, but with a more competitive price, achieved by reducing certain features such as an integrated USB hub — something many astrophotographers usually value very positively. However, this is actually where the strategy becomes interesting. By offering the camera at a lower price point, users can allocate part of the savings to an external hub, which not only provides additional USB ports but also power outputs. In many real-world setups, this ends up being a more flexible and scalable solution, especially for portable or semi-remote configurations. From this perspective, I think the strategy makes a lot of sense. As a personal example, I currently use a SVBONY SV405 in my observatory paired with a Samyang 135 mm lens, achieving excellent results. This kind of setup clearly shows that SVBONY products can deliver very strong performance in real conditions. All in all, I believe this camera is very good news for the astronomical community, as it lowers the barrier to access serious astrophotography while keeping quality high.

Product Review

I'm impressed by the quality of this telescope. - It works perfect without any flattener up to the IMG533 sensor. - Produced images has very good quality and details. - It is lightweight considering the focal. - The quality of the focuser is pretty good, it lacks some screws on the botton to put an EAF though Things to improve: - A dedicated flattener 1x - The thumbs to attach the rings are too big, if you want to put a vixen on the right side they are a problem.

SVBONY SV211 203mm Saddle Telescope Handle Bar for Guide Scope Mount

SV211

Product Review

It is very well made, I used the 503-102 version, I had to invert the rings positions from the original position, but after that it fit very well and does it job. I was surprised the the ZWO 30f5 guider got collimated with this bar almost perfectly, so they work very well together in my setup.

APO Astro Camera Lense | SVBONY SV535

SV535

Product Review

I’ve been using the SVBONY SV535 as part of my wide-field astrophotography setup, and it’s been a really enjoyable piece of gear to work with — especially if you’re not ready to jump straight into larger deep-space telescopes. The first thing that stood out to me is the sharpness. Once focused, stars stay tight across the frame, and it’s easy to dial in that critical focus thanks to the smooth helical focusing ring. I’ve also been impressed with the colour rendering — the apochromatic design keeps colour fringing well controlled, which makes post-processing much cleaner and helps targets look natural straight out of calibration. Another major advantage is how lightweight and compact this lens is. It’s incredibly easy on smaller mounts and keeps the overall rig manageable even when adding a camera, guide scope, and guide camera. That portability makes it particularly appealing for beginners or anyone building their first dedicated astrophotography setup without committing to heavier, more demanding equipment. Overall, the SV535 strikes a nice balance between performance and accessibility. It delivers sharp, well-corrected images while remaining portable and beginner-friendly — a solid option for wide-field imaging and a comfortable stepping stone before moving into larger deep-space optics.
