Svbony SV154 2" 26mm SWA 70° Super Wide Angle Telescope Eyepiece

SV154

Product Review

This is my first very 2-inch eyepiece, and I didn’t realize how much of a difference it would make until I started using it. The wider field of view makes observing feel much more immersive, especially on the Moon and brighter deep-sky targets. The optics are sharp, contrast is very good, and the eyepiece feels solid and well made in the hand. Eye relief is also comfortable, which makes longer observing sessions a lot more enjoyable. I’m mostly into astrophotography, but I find myself spending more and more time just casually looking through my telescope since getting this eyepiece because the views are simply more enjoyable and engaging. For the price, I’ve been extremely impressed with the overall quality and performance.

Svbony SV48P 102mm F6.5 Achromatic Refractor Telescope with 2.5" RAP

SV48P

Product Review

The sv480 102mm has honestly been one of the best values I’ve found in astronomy equipment. For the price, the overall build quality is surprisingly impressive, especially the dual-speed focuser. The fine focus adjustment is smooth and precise, and it makes dialing in focus during both visual observing and imaging much easier than I expected at this price point. Visually, this scope has been a lot of fun to use. Wide-field views of star clusters and the Moon look fantastic, and the extra aperture compared to smaller beginner refractors really helps pull in more detail. The scope feels solid without being overly heavy, so it’s easy to manage on a mid-range mount. What really surprised me is how capable it is as a beginner astrophotography OTA. Paired with a decent mount and camera, it’s a great platform for learning imaging without spending thousands on apochromatic glass right away. Yes, being an achromat you’ll see some chromatic aberration on brighter objects, but that’s expected, and honestly the performance-to-price ratio here is excellent. If someone wants a telescope that’s enjoyable for visual observing but also a practical way to get started in astrophotography, this is a fantastic option

SVBONY SV555 54mm f/4.5 APO Astrograph Set for Deep Sky Photo

SV555

Product Review

I'm currently testing the SV545 for an inexpensive setup for beginners. It works really well and due to the pezval design the distance between the camera and the telescope doe not matter too much as long as focus can be reached. That makes it easier for beginners to get things set up.

APS-C Color Cooled Astronomy Camera | SC571CC

SC571CC

Product Review

The SVBONY SC571CC is a cooled color astronomy camera designed for deep-sky imaging. Built around the highly praised Sony IMX571 APS-C back-illuminated sensor, it offers a 26-megapixel resolution (6224 x 4168) with 3.76µm pixels. This format provides an excellent field of view for large nebulae and galaxies while placing less demand on telescope optics compared to full-frame sensors. PROS: Sensor Performance & Zero Amp-Glow: The IMX571 is legendary in astrophotography. It features native zero amp-glow, eliminating corner artifacts during long exposures. With a native 16-bit ADC, it delivers an outstanding dynamic range of 14 stops and a peak quantum efficiency (QE) exceeding 80%. Efficient Cooling System: The dual-stage thermoelectric cooling (TEC) system lowers the sensor temperature by up to 35°C below ambient. This drastically reduces thermal noise and dark current for clean, long exposures. Modern Connectivity: The camera uses a high-speed USB 3.0 Type-C interface for fast, stable data transfers and features a built-in 512MB DDR3 buffer to prevent frame dropping. Software Integration: It offers seamless, out-of-the-box compatibility with mainstream software like N.I.N.A., APT, and ASCOM drivers. CONS: No Integrated USB Hub: Unlike some direct competitors (such as ZWO or Player One models), it lacks extra USB passthrough ports for guiding cameras or accessories, meaning more cables must run down to your main controller. Cooling Power Draw: While effective, achieving the maximum ΔT of -35°C can pull significant power, running the TEC close to 95% capacity in warmer environments. AR Protective Window: It features an anti-reflective (AR) window instead of an integrated UV/IR cut filter, requiring users to add their own luminance or dual-band filters to control star bloating. VERDICT: The SVBONY SC571CC brings top-tier APS-C astrophotography performance to a much more accessible price point. Despite minor compromises in accessory ports, its pristine image quality makes it an outstanding value choice for deep-sky enthusiasts.

Maksutov-Cassegrain Telescope for Planetary Observation MK127 | Svbony

MK127

Product Review

The SVBONY MK127 is a 127mm (5") Maksutov-Cassegrain optical tube assembly (OTA) that punches well above its price class. Featuring a Rumak-style optical design with a separate secondary mirror, a 1500mm focal length, and a native f/11.8 focal ratio, this compact telescope is engineered for high-contrast lunar, planetary, and double-star observations. PROS: Advanced Rumak Optical Design: Unlike standard Gregory-Maksutovs with an aluminized spot on the corrector lens, the MK127 uses an independent secondary mirror. Combined with a 99% reflectivity dielectric coating, this corrects for coma and astigmatism, delivering a remarkably flat field and pin-sharp star images. Dual-Speed Internal Focuser: Achieving precise focus at long focal lengths can be challenging. The integrated dual-speed mechanism (coarse and fine adjustments) makes focusing effortless and smooth, even when targeting fine details on Jupiter or Saturn. Included 0.65x Focal Reducer: This is a major selling point. The custom-matched reducer drops the focal ratio to a faster f/7.8, transforming a traditionally slow planetary scope into a capable tool for wide-field deep-sky imaging. Superb Build & Portability: Weighing under 3kg, its robust metal construction features dual finderscope shoes and versatile SCT threads that accept 1.25" and 2" accessories. CONS: Thermal Acclimation Time: Due to the thick front meniscus lens and sealed tube, the MK127 requires significant time to cool down to ambient temperature before delivering optimal, stable views. Narrow Native Field of View: At f/11.8, tracking fast objects or viewing large deep-sky targets (like the Andromeda Galaxy) is difficult without installing the included focal reducer. OTA Only: It is sold strictly as an optical tube, meaning beginners will need to purchase a mount, tripod, diagonals, and eyepieces separately. VERDICT: The SVBONY MK127 redefines the value of a 5-inch Maksutov. With its flat-field optics and included focal reducer, it bridges the gap between planetary observation and deep-sky astrophotography in a highly portable package.

ED Spotting Scope SV406P 20-60x80 | Svbony

SV406P

Product Review

Excellent product for the money it costs. So far, as far as I have had time to try and test, I am very satisfied with the quality of the device, packaging and delivery. I was most concerned about the clarity and sharpness at the telephoto end of the range, but everything is fine there too. Chromatic aberration is very well controlled, considering that this is not a premium device with a high price. I recommend this spotting scope, I hope that future impressions will remain at this level. Congratulations to Svboni for an excellent product at this price. I would like the field of view to be wider at 20x magnification, but I am aware of the compromise of the included eyepiece. The sharpness at 60x is quite good, the only thing is that the display becomes darker, but that is also quite expected. One of the main reasons why I chose this spotting scope is that it allows expansion with replacement eyepieces. My recommendation is that Svboni include in the description of the device all the eyepieces that work well on this spotting scope and allow focus to infinity. That would mean a lot to everyone because this spotting scope is purchased for the purpose of using different eyepieces.

Svbony SV240 2" NIR Multi Narrowband Filter Light Pollution Nebula Kit

SV240

Product Review

SVBONY SV240 Multi-Narrowband Filter Review: The Urban Astrophotography Solution The SVBONY SV240 is a 2-inch mounted multi-narrowband filter engineered specifically for deep-sky astrophotography under light-polluted skies. By isolating key emission lines (Ha, OIII, and H-Beta) while opening up transmission in the near-infrared (NIR) spectrum, this filter serves as a versatile tool for One-Shot Color (OSC) camera users operating in harsh urban environments up to Bortle 8. PROS: Effective Light Pollution Suppression: With an out-of-band blocking depth of ≥OD4/OD5, it ruthlessly cuts down light pollution from mercury and sodium vapor lamps, transforming washed-out urban skies into dark backdrops. Smart Multi-Bandpass Design: It yields peak transmittance exceeding 90-95% for Ha (656.3nm), OIII (500.7nm), and H-Beta (486.1nm) lines. This allows photographers to capture rich data from emission nebulae in a single exposure sequence without buying multiple filters. Near-Infrared (NIR) Pass: A standout feature is its high transmission in the 830-870nm NIR range. Modern OSC sensors are highly sensitive here, allowing users to extract finer structural details from galaxies where LED streetlights have less masking impact. Fast Optical System Compatibility: The multi-layer coatings are optimized to prevent massive spectral shifts, making it usable even on fast telescopes down to f/2. CONS: Moderate FWHM Widths: With FWHM ratings of 24nm (Ha) and 20nm (OIII), it is wider than elite, expensive dual-band filters (which feature 3nm–7nm bands). It lets in slightly more background skyglow. Color Balance Adjustments: The unique inclusion of the NIR band and H-Beta can introduce a distinct blue-green tint to stars, requiring careful manual color calibration and custom white balance during post-processing. Transmission Loss on Broadband Targets: While it works as a "jack-of-all-trades" filter, using it on reflection nebulae or continuous-spectrum targets will inevitably dim the signal, necessitating longer overall integration times. VERDICT: The SVBONY SV240 is an excellent budget-friendly, multi-tasking filter. For city-dwellers looking to image nebulae and galaxies without driving to dark sites, its balance of NIR transmission and light-pollution blocking delivers remarkable value.

APO Astro Camera Lense | SVBONY SV535

SV535

Product Review

Ecco una recensione dettagliata del mini-telescopio/astrofo SVBONY SV535, strutturata con pro e contro in lingua inglese e calibrata per rispettare il limite richiesto delle 2000 battute (spazi inclusi). SVBONY SV535 Review: Pocket-Sized Speed for Widefield Deep-Sky The SVBONY SV535 is an ultra-compact, lightweight apochromatic (APO) astrograph that bridges the gap between premium camera lenses and dedicated telescopes. Offering a 35mm aperture, a 105mm focal length, and a very fast fixed f/2.8 focal ratio, its 7-element in 5-groups optical design (including one ED glass element) is built explicitly to capture vast nebulas and sweeping starfields in full-frame glory. PROS: Blazing Fast Optic System: Operating at f/2.8, the SV535 collects light incredibly fast. Compared to traditional f/5.5 small refractors, it cuts required integration time significantly, making it perfect for rapid urban imaging or portable setups under dark skies. Featherweight Portability: Weighing just 482g, this "palm-sized" scope easily slips into any camera bag. It doesn't require massive tracking systems; small star trackers or lightweight harmonic mounts handle it with zero tracking strain. Versatile Mount & Camera Integration: Out of the box, it features an integrated Arca-Swiss/Vixen-compatible dovetail base. Rear standard M42 threads and native mirrorless camera compatibility (such as Sony E-mount) simplify connections. Front Filter Support: A clever mechanical touch allows users to screw standard 2" filters directly onto the front M48 thread of the telescope, simplifying the imaging train. CONS: Severe Backfocus Limitation: With a tight native backfocus of only 24mm, there is virtually no physical clearance to install a standard filter wheel or off-axis guider (OAG) when utilizing dedicated cooled astro-cameras. Fiddly Camera Rotation: Framing targets requires loosening the main lens holder thumb-screw. This mechanism can become stiff and difficult to access once a heavy camera body and wiring are attached. Extreme Short Focal Length: At 105mm, target choices are restricted. Galaxies and planets will appear as tiny dots, making this strictly a specialized wide-field nebula instrument. VERDICT: The SVBONY SV535 redefines budget wide-field astrophotography. If you accept the tight backfocus compromises, its combination of f/2.8 speed, full-frame coverage, and grab-and-go design offers unmatched "cheap thrills" value for spontaneous space imaging.

SVBONY SV605CC Cooled Camera & SV149 Adapter for Deep Sky Astrophoto

SV605CC

Product Review

The SVBONY SV605CC paired with the SV149 lens adapter is a clever combination designed for widefield astrophotography. Instead of mounting the camera to a traditional telescope, this bundle allows users to couple the SV605CC cooled color camera (Sony IMX533 sensor) directly to standard Canon EF or Nikon AF DSLR lenses via the SV149 metal adapter. It turns high-quality camera lenses into ultra-fast, portable astrophotography setups. PROS: The Mighty IMX533 Sensor: The core of this bundle is the SV605CC camera. Featuring a 1-inch backlit CMOS square sensor ($3008 \times 3008$), it delivers an 80%+ peak quantum efficiency and zero amp-glow, ensuring clean, calibration-friendly frames even during long exposures. Cost-Effective Ultra-Widefield: By repurposing fast camera lenses (like a 50mm f/1.8 or a 135mm f/2), you can capture massive nebulae complexes at focal ratios much faster than almost any commercial telescope can provide, all at a fraction of the cost. Robust Mechanical Coupling: The SV149 adapter is made of solid anodized aluminum and features a protective internal brass ring. It locks the heavy DSLR lenses securely, maintaining strict sensor alignment to prevent geometric star distortion. Efficient Two-Stage TEC Cooling: The camera lowers sensor temperatures by up to 30°C below ambient, virtually freezing out thermal noise for pristine long exposures under warm summer night skies. CONS: Aperture & Focus Are Manual Only: Because the SV149 is a purely mechanical adapter with no electronic pass-through pins, you completely lose automatic aperture control and autofocus. You must set your lens aperture before mounting it, and manual focusing on stars can be tedious. Strict Backfocus Setup: Camera lenses have very short backfocus requirements compared to telescopes. Adding a filter drawer or thick dual-band filters within the tight space of this imaging train can prevent the lens from reaching infinity focus. No USB Pass-Through Hub: The camera lacks extra USB ports to power accessories like automated focusers or guide cameras, adding minor cable management challenges. VERDICT: The SVBONY SV605CC + SV149 bundle is a brilliant, budget-friendly shortcut to widefield deep-sky astrophotography. If you already own high-quality DSLR lenses and do not mind manual controls, its superb, glow-free performance delivers stunning, cinematic night-sky landscapes.

SVBONY SV241 Astronomy DC+USB HUB Box for Astrophotography

SV241

Product Review

The SVBONY SV241 is a compact, lightweight micro DC power and USB hub box designed specifically for astrophotographers looking to eliminate cable clutter. Sitting directly on the telescope assembly, this pass-through power splitter consolidates data and power distribution, routing electricity from a single main 12V source to multiple hungry accessories like cooled cameras, mounts, and dew heaters. PROS: •Impressive Connectivity Density: For an ultra-compact unit measuring just $96 \times 61 \times 25\text{ mm}$, it packs an outstanding layout: six 12V DC outputs ($5.5 \times 2.1\text{ mm}$), two high-speed USB 3.1 ports for snappy camera readouts, one USB 2.0 data port, one USB-C port, and two extra power-only USB ports (sharing 5V 8A) dedicated to budget-friendly USB dew heaters. Massive Cable Reduction: Acting as a localized cable management terminal on top of the optical tube, it eliminates the hazardous "spiderweb" of hanging wires trailing down to the ground, significantly minimizing the risk of cable snags during telescope slewing. Robust Electronic Safeguards: SVBONY integrated essential multi-layer protection circuits, including electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection, reverse polarity prevention, over-voltage limits, and individual over-current short-circuit guards for the USB ports. Featherweight Mounting: At just 125g, it won't upset your mount's balance. The inclusion of native M4 and standard UNC 1/4-20 threaded holes underneath allows it to mount directly onto generic Vixen or Losmandy dovetail bars. CONS: Non-Switchable, Dumb Ports: The standard SV241 is a passive, hardware-only splitter. Unlike higher-end computer controllers (or the pricier SV241 Pro model), it lacks ASCOM or N.I.N.A. software integration. You cannot remotely cycle power or switch off individual ports from a computer loop. Proprietary Input Format: The main 12V DC input utilizes a $5.5 \times 2.5\text{ mm}$ jack instead of the industry-standard $5.5 \times 2.1\text{ mm}$ plug found on most astronomical mounts (like the ZWO AM5). Users utilizing custom cables must carry an adapter. Total Power Overhead ceiling: While individual ports can peak high, the whole box shares a rigid hardware input limit of 12V 10A (120W max). Running a large cooled camera, a heavy equatorial mount, a mini-PC, and multiple dew heaters simultaneously can push the unit dangerously close to its peak threshold. VERDICT: The SVBONY SV241 is an exceptionally affordable, reliable hardware companion for entry-to-mid level setups. If you don't require remote software control over your power grid, its robust metal chassis offers the ultimate value cure for frustrating cable snags.

SVBONY SV188P 99% Reflectivity 90-Degree Dielectric Mirror Diagonal

SV188P

Product Review

The SVBONY SV188P is a 1.25-inch, 90-degree star diagonal designed to upgrade the visual performance of refractors and Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes. By replacing standard, budget-tier prism diagonals with a high-precision, multi-coated dielectric mirror, this optical accessory aims to deliver maximum light throughput and razor-sharp contrast for both planetary observation and deep-sky stargazing. PROS: High-Reflectivity Dielectric Coating: The standout feature is its 99% reflectivity dielectric mirror coating. Unlike traditional aluminum mirrors that tarnish over time, this multi-layer coating maximizes photon transmission, resulting in noticeably brighter images and starker contrast when observing faint nebulas or subtle planetary bands. 1/10 Wave Optical Precision: The mirror flatness is rated at 1/10λ (wave) accuracy. This tight tolerance ensures that light rays are reflected cleanly without introducing unwanted optical distortions, maintaining the native sharpness of high-end telescope optics. Brass Compression Ring Protection: Instead of using primitive set-screws that can scratch and gouge expensive eyepieces, the SV188P features an internal brass compression ring. It locks your eyepieces securely and evenly in place without leaving annoying marks on their barrels. Robust All-Metal Construction: The housing is CNC-machined from anodized aluminum, giving it a premium feel and excellent structural durability. The nosepiece is also threaded internally to accept standard 1.25-inch astronomy filters. CONS: Limited to 1.25" Eyepieces: Being a dedicated 1.25-inch format diagonal, it cannot accommodate wide-field 2-inch eyepieces. This restricts your maximum true field of view on low-power, sweeping deep-sky observations. Potential Focus Travel Issues: The physical light path length of the diagonal housing requires a fair amount of inward focus travel. On certain short-tube refractors or specialized scopes, users might struggle to reach infinity focus without using an extra extension tube. Reflections on Ultra-Bright Targets: While the dielectric coating is highly efficient, minor internal scatter or ghosting can occasionally occur when placing extremely brilliant objects, like Venus or a full Moon, just outside the field of view. VERDICT: The SVBONY SV188P is one of the most cost-effective optical upgrades a visual astronomer can make. By offering 99% reflectivity and robust compression rings at a highly competitive price point, it easily breathes new life into any entry-to-mid level telescope setup.

Svbony SV135 1.25" 7-21mm Zoom Eyepiece FMC Telescope Eyepiece Kit

SV135

Product Review

The SVBONY SV135 is a variable focal length 1.25-inch zoom eyepiece designed for visual astronomy. This specific high-spec variant features an updated 7-element in 4-groups optical layout that delivers an apparent field of view (AFOV) ranging from a narrow 40° at the 21mm focal length up to a wider 60° when zoomed in to 7mm. It targets amateur astronomers seeking a "grab-and-go" solution to eliminate constant eyepiece swapping in the dark. PROS: Versatile Linear Magnification: The smooth, internal twisting mechanism allows you to shift continuously anywhere between 7mm and 21mm. It acts as an adjustable finder at 21mm, letting you locate a planet or lunar crater before instantly dialing up the power to inspect fine details. Upgraded 7-Element Optics: Unlike cheaper 5-element zoom iterations, the 7-element construction utilizing high-index glass elements and fully multi-coated (FMC) green coatings provides surprisingly sharp on-axis views with respectable contrast and minimal chromatic aberration. Lightweight & Compact Form Factor: Weighing around 140g, it is significantly lighter and smaller than bulky premium zoom units (like the Celestron 8-24mm or Baader Hyperion). It will not upset the balance of small travel refractors or tabletop Dobsonian telescopes. Threaded for Filters: The standard 1.25" anodized aluminum barrel features a safety undercut to prevent slips and is fully threaded underneath to accept M28.5*0.6 astronomy filters. CONS: Tunnel-Vision at Low Power: The apparent field of view drops down to a claustrophobic 40° at the 21mm setting. This creates a noticeable "drinking straw" effect, making it less than ideal for viewing large, sweeping deep-sky targets like the Pleiades. Lack of Click-Stops: The zoom mechanism is completely linear and free-turning. Because there are no mechanical detents or click-stops at standard intervals (e.g., at 9mm, 12mm, 15mm), it is nearly impossible to match focal lengths precisely if you are trying to use a pair of these in a binoviewer. Reduced Eye Relief at 7mm: While comfortable at 21mm, the usable eye relief tightens down to about 13mm at high magnification, which forces users who wear eyeglasses to fold down the rubber eyecup or remove their glasses to see the full field. VERDICT: The 40°-60° SVBONY SV135 is a highly practical, entry-level upgrade. While deep-sky purists will miss a wider field at low power, its sharp central optics and effortless magnification flexibility make it the ultimate space-saving companion for casual moon and planet watching.

SVBONY 1.25" Moon Filter Reduce Glare Optical Glass for Telescope

F9114A

Product Review

While one would normally use a light yellow filter to improve focus on a big achromat, this works better. It lets enough green through to give a natural appearance without a noticeable pink tint or blue halo. As it improves the contrast of H beta and OIII lines as well as moon and planets, I attached it to my diagonal inside the scope and never remove it. A very good value!

SV202 8x42ED Binocular Portable IPX7 Waterproof with Neck Strap

SV202

Product Review

I was looking for an less expensive 8x42 roof prism binocular to test against my 20-year-old Vixen Japan 8x42. They were made before ED glass was available on affordable binoculars, and they still cost nearly $300 back then. The first one I tried was a big disappointment, and I returned it. But it occurred to me that I have had very good luck with Svbony's astronomical optical goods, which have proven to be a very good value. So I had a look at their binocular line, and ordered the 8x42. So far, I am very impressed. Collimation is excellent -- the two images overlap perfectly. I find the eyebox to be generous enough. They claim the lenses are made with ED glass, and sure enough, there is less chromatic aberration in the Svbony binocular than in my old reliable Vixens. Close focus is extremely good. Build quality seems very good -- PD adjustment and the focus adjustments are smooth once they have been used a little bit. My one experience with the company's customer service was very satisfactory. I would like to know how to pronounce "Svbony" -- is it an acronym, or an adaptation of a Chinese name? Anyway, if this binocular lasts over the years, I can say they are a really good value at the price. The following week, I noticed that the 8x32mm variant was on sale for only ~$90, so I ordered it. This binocular is smaller and lighter that the 8x42mm, and exhibits the same clear images, good collimation and freedom from distortion as the 8x42. Further evidence that this vendor's optical goods are a really good value. Also, the cases supplied with these binoculars are very sturdy and well-designed.

SV202 8x42ED Binocular Portable IPX7 Waterproof with Neck Strap

SV202

Product Review

This review is for the SVBONY Upgraded SV202 8×32 ED. I’m not a bird watcher or a stargazer — I’m just a guy who likes looking out from cruise‑ship balconies. I’m comparing these to my Celestron Outland X 8×25, which I’ve always considered a solid compact set. The SVBONYs absolutely blow them away. The clarity and brightness are on a different level. One important note: the Amazon listing incorrectly shows the field of view as 8.12°. The correct FOV is 7.8° (confirmed in the included spec sheet — I posted a photo). Still a good number, but accuracy in listings matters. Optically, these are easily 5‑star binoculars for the price — other reviewers aren’t exaggerating when they compare them to $300+ pairs. I’m only knocking off one star because the listing specs are wrong.

SV41 Pro 28-84x80 Mak Spotting Scope For Phone Birding Photography

SV41 Pro

Product Review

I purchased the SvBony SV41 Pro 80mm f/10 Maksutov spotting scope for use at the shooting range, however, I believe it can be used as an entry-level astronomy telescope.I was impressed that the SvBony package had two layers of shrink wrap to keep out foreign material. In addition, both the scope and the tripod were wrapped in plastic and cushioned by foam. The best attributes of this product are the clean optics, smooth double-focuser (course and fine) and the ability to install an optional universal dovetail mount. I chose the dovetail mount option since it was on sale during Prime Day and I have lots of finderscopes. The fine focus is useful during high-power observation or the bit of refocus required during a power (zoom) change. You can also remove the zoom eyepiece to add other 1.25" eyepieces or cameras. The scope outer shell is made with a black metal optical tube and an army-green plastic rear assembly. The lens cap is plastic and threads on in front of the meniscus corrector lens. There is also a rubber cap to cover the top of the zoom lens. Everything is sealed and there are no external collimation points. The body is waterproof, nitrogen filled and has a standard 1/4-20 tripod hole on the bottom. The 28.8mm to 9.6mm (28X to 84X) zoom eyepiece features a plastic eyecup assembly vice a folding rubber cup. This is a nice feature for folks who wear glasses and will last longer than a rubber eyecup. Eye relief of 16mm to 19mm is also good for eyeglasses or providing play space for cell-phone eyepiece projection photography. Below the zoom eyepiece is a 45 degree silver-plated prism that provides correct image orientation. The tripod is made of plastic and metal. It's lightweight but really only useful in a static setup such as a shooting range. If I was using this for astronomical purposes, I would get a tripod with slow-motion azimuth and elevation controls. The slow-motion type of mount is really needed for high-powered viewing. Amazon carries these types of tripods. The carry bag included is padded and has an internal fold-down partition to keep the scope protected from the tripod. I found that the fit was a bit tight but it is possible to get both tripod and scope in it after some careful maneuvering. A small multi-language handbook and cleaning cloth are included. These were found hiding under the carry bag during the unpacking. Most of the spotting scope features are intuitive, especially to seasoned amateur astronomers. Overall, the quality of the scope is great for its price point, especially when on sale. It has nice views during the day and preliminary star tests look promising for the night observations. This scope looks like a winner for use at the shooting range, wildlife observation and some astronomical viewing.
