SVBONY SV305C IMX662 Astronomy Camera for Planetary & Lunar Imaging

Product Review

I am liking the deep sky EAA images I am getting with this camera and the 60mm guide scope as the imaging telescope. Budget friendly and fun. Field of view is about 1 degree.

Product Review

Wow! That's all I can say. The first time I used this camera was to view the 2024 Solar Eclipse from Central Ohio. You can see how good it is. This camera in conjunction with the Sharpcap software is amazing. I'm very amateur at this, it didn't take me long to figure out. Based on the magnification I'm getting, it's approximately a 5mm aperture, so my 750mm Newtonian gives me a 150x view. A perfect and inexpensive starter camera. I love not having to stoop and squint at the eyepiece anymore.

SV165 30mm F4 Mini Guide Scope for Astrophotography

SV165

Product Review

Bought the 40mm variant. Light weight like a finder. Good clear multi coated objective lens. Lots of focus (length) adjustability. The base fits in a standard Synta finder shoe and has three point adjustment so it can be aligned with the optical axis of the main scope. I use this little guide scope with an astro camera to plate solve to align my mount with the stars in the sky an electronic finder if you will. I like Svbony products. They are affordably priced, good build quality and durable performance. I would recommend.

This is a very good guide scope for the money. It is easy to get focused. I also own the 50mm guide scope made by Svbony and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good quality affordable guide scope.

Svbony SV165 Mini Guide Scope 40mm for Deep Sky

SV165

Product Review

Best starter guide scope! Works just as well as $300 guide scopes, and for only 50 bucks, it’s definitely worth it. I can get guiding under 1 arc-second. Focusing can be tricky, but once it’s dialed in it performs perfectly. (I did 3-D print a due shield for it but it’s not needed.)

Svbony SV165 Mini Guide Scope 40mm for Deep Sky

SV165

Product Review

Works as expected. An improvement over my old 30mm ZWO scope. Plenty good for focal lengths less than 700mm The scope is held by six rotating screws. It must be accurately aligned before use or your guiding will be terrible. This is normal. Just a warning for anyone new to this hobby.

Product Review

Svbony SV905C 1.23MP Type-C 1.25" Guide Camera for Astronomy Guiding

SV905C

Product Review

Works great as an affordable guide camera. Paired with the SvBony guide scope or in my case the Apertura guide scope it is plenty sensitive and comes with the needed extensions to reach focus. Plenty of resolution and the fact that it is color it still works fine with PHD2 for picking out stars in my bortle 5 skies. I run the gain around 30 (out of 100) to get the frame time down to around 1 sec). Works with both INDI and ASCOM drivers for Windows or LINUX and possible other platforms like MAC. A PI 5 is more than enough computing power for astrophotography and this works great with it.

Exceeds my expectations for price. Here is a taste of planetary imaging with a c8 sct. Sharpcap, PIPP, and registax v6. IR cut filter as well. Seemed to hit 18fps with my settings and no ROI, not best but not shabby

Nice simple guide camera that you can also use for planetary imaging. I really like that this little guide camera has built-in USB-C. That makes it much easier to get a live feed through the camera when I don't want to fire up a session of PHD or TheSky (or if I'm actively using them for guiding). The ST4 auto-guide port works great and it was immediately recognized by my Meade mount. This camera comes with a couple of tube extensions and a nice travel-stop ring so that once you get your focus, you can take the camera out to look directly through the telescope and then quickly return it to the same focus depth.

SV106 60mm f/4 Guide Scope Multi-Use Finder Scope with Helical Focuser

SV106

Product Review

I did not buy this to use as a tracking scope but to use with my C90 to take photos of the Sun, Moon, and objects such as the Pleiades, & Orion's nebula. With a much shorter focal length than the C90 it gives less magnification and a wider field of view than my C90. It is well made, well packaged and I think it is a very good deal for the price. It can also be used with a 2x Barlow or a .5 focal reducer, and also as a finder scope.

SV106 Guide Scope 50mm with Helical Focuser for Astronomical Telescope

SV106

Product Review

I looked at the listing carefully and decided this was the same scope made for other companies, but at a lower cost. Curiously it has the same model number as a 50mm finder, so I wasn't sure I was going to receive a 60, but I did. I mounted it to my Celestron 8SE to be used as an autoguider as shown in the photo It is actually a bit longer than I expected, but fits the 8SE well after I added a second vixen bar to give it plenty of support. I didn't use the narrow dovetail that came with the scope, however it is well made. so I may reuse that for another purpose. Instead I mounted the rings onto an extra pair of clamps I had. The optical quality is very nice. No visible aberrations or distortions from edge to edge, and the image is nice and bright with crisp contrast. I do see a purplish colored coating on the objective, so it may have an antireflection coating of some kind. I may need to tweak the focuser once I attach the camera, but for just using an eyepiece, everything works well and is smooth without being overly loose or overly tight. The only thing I didn't care for were the six inexpensive screws used to center the scope in the rings. They seem to be cast aluminum and not machined in any way. I may clean them up later with a die cutter. I also will add some lock nuts before my final alignment with the main scope, just to keep everything aligned and tight. So overall, I'm happy with the purchase and I think Svbony needs to be considered when choosing products of this type.

Very happy with this scope. I've used this as main scope with ZWO ASI224MC camera and done DSO Astrophotography. It is quite capable of producing sharp images. My images attached are done by Live Stacking. No flat or dark frames used.

1.25inch 7mm to 21mm 57°-40° Zoom Eyepiece | SVBONY SV135

SV135

Product Review

This eyepiece helps cancel/absorb some light and allows for more clarity when viewing in the suburbs. (My backyard) After about 5 min adjusting eyes, many more distant items became visible with this eyepiece, than any other I have. The ability to zoom with 1 piece eliminates the hassle of changing, dropping, or looking for the next piece you want. Price point; this is a very good product that can replace 5 other eyepieces, or save some cash by only getting this 1 zoom. Happy star hunting.

1.25inch 7mm to 21mm 57°-40° Zoom Eyepiece | SVBONY SV135

SV135

Product Review

The zoom has the following good points: Low scatter, high contrast, sharp to the edge at all focal lengths at f7.5, extremely good flare control, fairly good eye relief (not quite enough for glasses wearers), and smooth zooming. What's not to like? Well... A fairly narrow field of view at 21mm, and not all that wide at 7mm. Still, this is wider than the sometimes cheaper, narrower angle, 7-21mm sold by some other dealers, and the wider field is better corrected. You can't see what magnification you are using in the dark without using a light. This is where zooms with click stops come in handy. Even with a light, comparisons with fixed eyepieces show that the focal lengths marked on the barrel are longer than what the eyepiece provides by a significant margin, at least in the middle marks. Hence, you are using significantly more magnification than you might believe. That said, I use this over the much more expensive Baader zoom. The optical quality of the Svbony is matched by the viewing comfort. Here is the obligatory, "I have Takahashi and Baader orthos, but I use this zoom for my planetary viewing." I paid $50. What I got was a high performance eyepiece that I can comfortably sit and look through for hours.

Amazing edition! Exactly what I’ve been looking for to zoom in and out on planets without having a swap eyepieces the whole time. Very comfortable to look through. The picture of the moon was me holding my iPhone to the eyepiece. That’s as best as I can do.
