SV503 Telescope ED 80mm F7 Doublet Refractor OTA for Exceptional Viewing and Astrophotography

SV503 80mm F7 astronomy telescope SV503 would be better begin for astronomy amateurs to do astrophotography. For those who want to enjoy outdoor activities in the garden.

80mm Ultra-clear Refractor Telescope

A larger aperture means a larger amount of light will get a brighter picture.

ED Lens - Effectively Eliminate Chromatic Aberration

SV503 80ED telescope’s objective lens features an S FPL-51 extra-low dispersion glass ED element, which virtually eliminates chromatic aberration. This results in the good color correction for an ED doublet lens.

Dual Speed Focuser

The gear ratio of the dual speed 2-inch toothed focuser is 1: 10; which makes it easy to achieve accurate focus.

360 Degree Rotating

Deep Space Astrophotography

A thoroughly though-out design and high-quality mechanical components. This very special SV503 telescope provides astrophotographers, visual observers or nature watchers with bright, wide field views when observing starry skies or nature watching.

VERY GOOD SCOPE

The scope has been very good the dew shield is very useful. Paired with the right equipment you’ll enjoy this scope a lot even viewing through the scope with eye pieces crystal clear. (Recommend getting a lense cleaning kit)

The performance for visual astronomy has been great.

I bought the 102 version last month. I'm under Bortle 8 skies, so even my C6 has contrast issues . Yet, the Svbony, under full magnification 200x (using your favorite Baader Zoom and barlow set) at Jupiter and Saturn worked very well.

Sharp images, little CA

This telescope gave a very sharp images. Little chromatic aberration (CA) when viewing bright objects like the Moon. Other objects, you can not see CA. When using 2" diagonal some eyepieces with longer optical bath may not reach focus. Recommend the basic SVBONY 2 inches 90 Deg Dielectric Mirror Diagonal. 1.25" diagonals work with all eyepieces. For visual and astrophotography. Great customer service.

Fantastic Scope for the Price !

Excellent optical and mechanical quality, had a chance to use it (coupled to a Canon EOS T6i camera) on Orion M42, the Horsehead nebula and the Rosette nebula. Truly outstanding for the price.

Punches far above Its Weight Class!

I've been an amateur astronomer for 40 years, and currently own 7 scopes, most of which are Schmidt Cassegrains that I use for deep sky observing. Let me tell you that I couldnt be more pleased with this scope. I own an 80mm triplet APO, and I cannot discern any chromatic aberrations that diferentiate the SV503 from the higher-priced Apochromatic scope. I tried the SV503 with several high-end plossl, nagler and zoom eyepieces, and none drew out any significant optical imperfections or refractory aberrations, even at the edge of the viewing field. -Especially shocking given the FPL-51 glass versus the more expensive FPL-53 glass used in most high-end refractors. The SV503's dew shield transitions to the extended position smoothly, and tightens when extended to lock firmly in-place. -Not the typical stiction Ive witnessed with dew shields on other budget-friendly scopes. The focuser is quality, fluid and precise, and the hardware is sturdy. I suggest you also buy the appropriate field flattener (SV193) if you're planning on using the scope for astrophotography. SvBony has done an excellent job with this scope, and I wouldnt hesitate to recommend the SV503 to anyone.

Very good!!!

I don't take astrophotography; I use it visually, and it's truly incredible how beautiful Jupiter, Saturn, Venus, the moon, the Pleiades, and Andromeda look! It's truly incredible, and it was worth every penny! It arrived from Miami to Uruguay in 10 business days after purchasing directly and without any problems. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Exceeded expectations

This 80mm refractor is worth well more than I paid for it! The first time I took it out for a night of observing the sky, the sharp, contrasty views of star clusters and nebulae impressed me and my observing buddies. They spent as much time looking through this scope as through their own, much larger, reflector telescopes. The objective lens gives wonderful views. The "mechanics" of the scope are well-made and put together, including the retractable dew/light shield at the lens end and the rotating focuser assembly at the eyepiece end. Two small quibbles: The main focuser is a bit tight to turn, but another owner tells me it will loosen as I use the fouser. (The fine-focuser worked very well right out of the box!) I plan to use this refractor purely for observing, not astro-imaging.

Awesome and just buy it. Hits way above its price point. Great service experience from SVBONY also.

The scope itself is tack sharp to a point that any higher end scopes are going to be very minimal / incremental improvements, but you will pay 100s more. Compared this with a Nexstar 5 SE, Astronomics 70mm ED, Apertura 72 mm and a Skywather 72mm evostar, all of these are in the same league. Note that the rest of optical train is also very important, so got the SVBONY Red Dielectric diagonal, SVBONY 50 mm auto guide / finder scope , a 32 mm Plossl, SVBONY 8-24 mm zoom EP, Agena Astro 5MM wide angle dual ED EP . Also got the SVBONY UHC and Variable ND filters which are important. With all these on a manila Alt- Azimuth , whether viewing the moon, Jupiter, Saturn or Venus it is tack sharp. Just entering into AP and this scope pairs well with the ZWO AS120MS wide field camera using PHD2 and Sharpcap . In short great telescope for beginners and amateurs that is looking for a high quality scope to start and not some cheap departmental stores ones. As others have mentioned the FL51 ED objective with Lanthanum glass inside are doing the job perfectly. The R&P focuser is great and prefer to the Crayford types that slip under heavy EP or camera load.

Love it

Update: After using it for nearly 2 years I still enjoy it and can pull up great pictures of the planets. It’s not the strongest scope out there but it does what it should for the money! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 💯 Really liking this scope! Don’t expect to se footprints on the moon or incredible details of Saturn’s rings but you will definitely see the Saturn and it’s rings, moons of Jupiter and it’s clouds. Keep in mind picture of the moon I attached was taken on my phone and scope was mounted on wobbly tripod so it’s came out pretty bad haha. Now, I’m a beginner but wanted something better after trying few scopes and doing a lot of research and I’m satisfied, and I think I will be satisfied for a while lol it’s just matter of good tripod. Don’t expect to buy this scope, put it on $100 tripod (even if it claims will support the weight) and hope it won’t wobble. Don’t make my mistakes haha. Expect to purchase nice mount and you will get a good image through eyepiece in return. Didn’t try it for nebula yet, as still exploring planets with it, trying out different eyepieces/filters. But I’m expecting to get a good view as reviews here on Amazon and with my personal research show. Overall it’s a great scope for its money.

Amazing DSO telescope

This is an amazing chose for capturing deep space objects. it has a wider field of view so you can capture any surrounding structures you want! has lots of support for ZWO mods too. I'm running a ASI 183 MC pro and haven't noticed anything majorly wrong. overall must get.
