How to make the C mount cameras working with an astronomy telescope

For amateurs, take astronomy photos need different kinds of adapters. Today we will talk about the 2020 new arrival sv163 C-mount adapter.

Firstly, we have 3 size C-mount adapters;

1.25 inch to C-mount adapter

2 inch to C-mount adapter

M42 standard threads to C-mount adapter

What is C mount ?

A C mount is a type of lens mount commonly found on 16 mm movie cameras, closed-circuit television cameras, machine vision cameras and microscope phototubes.

C-mount lenses provide a male thread, which mates with a female thread on the camera.
The thread is nominally 1.000 inch (25.4 mm) in diameter, with 32 threads per inch, designated as "1-32 UN 2A" in the ANSI B1.1 standard for unified screw threads.
The flange focal distance is 17.526 millimetres (0.6900 in) for a C mount.

How to use the sv163 C-mount adapters?

for example, the svbony sv305 camera is designed with 2 adapters, the threads on the sv305 camera body is C-mount female threads, so you could add the SV163 adapter to the SV305 camera directly. then put the camera with adapter into your telescope tube. no matter you have the 1.25 inch, 2 inch telescope or the M42 threads telescope tube, the 3 size sv163 C-mount adapter will help you connecting them well.

see the following pictures.

All in all, you could use this adapter with all your C-mount movie cameras, closed-circuit television cameras, machine vision cameras and microscope phototubes.

If you don't have a astronomy camera, you could use other cameras working with your telescope. this is also a way to start your astrophotography interest. hope this will help you.

Do you think these will be useful adapters?

Hi, I recenlty bought a SV305 camera and works great, my NextStar 4SE telescope has threaded port (1.375" - 24TPI) in the back of the rear cells to conect 35 mm cameras , but I'd like to know if there's and adaptor to attache the SV305 camera in that port, I hope you can help. Rgds

Just bought an SV305. I love it! It came with a c-adaptor. I have several C-mount lenses, but the male threads on all of those lenses will not thread into the female threads on the adaptor? The adaptor female threads are not c, and not filters? The male threads on the adaptor are c and fit the sv305 just fine. It is just a problem fir the female? What DOES fit into the c-adaptor female is the 1.25” extension male threads. The extension male also fits into the 305... why won’t my c lenses male threads not fit into the c-adaptor but fit fine into the 305? The c lens needs a short extension to get to the 17 mm focal plane distance. If the adaptor was supposed to do that, the female threads will not allow the lens to screw into it? Help!!!! Thanks, Chuck
