Good optics for the price. Versatile
It has high magnification and it requires a good, steady tripod. The optics are good but the sharpness controls are a bit clumsy. I like the fact that SVBONY provides several oculars (lenses/zooms) that can change the magnification and expand the usefulness area. SVBONY also provides digital cameras that can replace the ocular. The control of the camera through the phone app is cumbersome as the app leaves a lot to desire. Overall it is a good product.
Just buy it! You’ll love it!
This is a great spotting scope! We’ve taken it on several excursions to Yellowstone, Grand Teton, and the Badlands. I would estimate you can see about a mile off with the scope (wildlife will be small at a mile, obviously!)
The scope is a nice bonus for those (like us) who travel. We tuck it carefully in our carry-on suitcase and it travels fine. The display is pretty bright and clear.
Overall, I’d definitely recommend this scope. We’ve gotten a lot of enjoyment from it!
A pleasant surprise !
This is my first spotting scope with ED glass, the images are bright and clear. My main use for this scope is for looking at birds and other wild life . If you are looking for a high quality spotting scope , but you don't want to spend a lot , just get this one, you'll be happy that you did , I am .
Great
This spotting scope is amazing. I own a couple other cheaper ones and the difference between them and this one is night and day. It’s so clear and zooms in much farther. You can tell the quality is much better as well. I put my phone in it but the picture doesn’t do it justice. I am looking over 200 yards in that pic and it looks amazingly close. I would recommend
Surprisingly good for its price
Clean and dark interior, pale green coating, near perfect fit and finish--except extremely tiny little bit of slack of rubber armor near the rotation ring. Not an issue even from cosmetic point of view, just a minor remark.
Optically it is good enough to run against my old William optic 70 ED Zenithstar. Its chromatic aberration (CA) is no worse than ED doublet despite its more complicated optical path, larger objective size and lower focal ratio (5.375 vs 6). It beats the doublet hands down in contrast and seems to be a little bit sharper. I find it definitely easier to identify small details too. The star test is not totally perfect, but being a spotting scope it is not geared to high powered planetary observation. The view on crescent moon is fantastic and CA is totally unobtrusive even be at zoom 60x. I have another WO 66ED doublet F6 Ferrari version with even better optics. Still the SA406P holds its own very well. The bottom line: I can sell the Zenithstar now.
It makes me wonder how good would its bigger brother be? Is an upgrade really meaningful?
Best bang for your buck
I recently received my Svbony ED 20-60x80, and man, it's a game-changer! This thing blew me away, and I couldn't be happier with it.
First off, it's built tough. Feels solid and well-made, yet it's light and easy to carry around.
In terms of value for money, this spotting scope is a winner. The performance and build quality you get for the price are unbeatable.
As far as optics go, this thing blows my telescope out of the water. The 20-60x80 setup lets you get up close and personal with whatever you're looking at. I pointed it at a tower that’s just under 1,700 yards and the details were crisp and clear. The colors pop, and it stays bright even when it's not-so-sunny outside. These pictures were taken just before sunset.
Focusing is a piece of cake, and that adjustable eyepiece makes sure you get the perfect view. The focus wheel is smooth and precise, so you can zoom in on your target without any fuss.
Another standout feature is the ruggedness of this scope. It's waterproof, fogproof, and seems like it’s built to withstand harsh weather conditions in the field.
In a nutshell, the Svbony ED 20-60x85 is a winner for me. It's got power, clarity, and toughness at a more than reasonable price. I plan to use it for long-range shooting and based on what I’ve seen so far, this is a perfect fit for me. I couldn't be happier with my purchase, and I highly recommend it to anyone in need of a high-quality spotting scope.
Outstanding spotting scope
As a former competition shooter and Marine, I can’t emphasize how crucial a good spotter is to being successful. Naturally, a good scope is required. This fits the bill nicely. Images are crisp and clear. Focus is simple and easy. The eye relief is superb and glare is dramatically reduced. It is a great value for the price and I highly recommend it.
good scope
Tried it out outside and the viewing is clear. Also tried it through the window and still had a clear image to see detail. Later at the end of the day, I tried it in the failing light. It surprised me how bright the view was, even better than with the naked eye. The light gathering ability did surprise me. This glass will be very useful in low-light conditions.
Great little telescope for hunting or sky viewing.
This is a great little telescope for hunting, or sky viewing. For hunting I could easily see using this scope to look around for your prey, as it offers a larger viewing area than most sniper scopes do. Then once you find your prey, switch to your rifle scope to home in on your shot.
As for Sky viewing, this isn't the most powerful telescope, but it would definitely suffice for the budding amateur sky viewer, and gets up to 60x magnification.
Very Clear Glass
I bought this to use in long range rifle shooting. I had been using a much cheaper scope for several years but at full magnification the image was pretty dark. I had no desire to spend a lot of money but I did want something better than what I had. After reviewing a dozen or so scopes around this price range I decided to get the Svbony spotting scope. The clarity is so much better! The weight doesn't concern me as I always have it set up on a tripod and don't carry it anywhere but from the truck to the shooting station. It would be nicer in a lot of ways, but for me this scope works just fine.
